Lords take the Oaths.

This Day Edward Lord Bishop of Gloucester and Edward Lord Bishop of Asaph took the Oaths, and made and subscribed the Declaration, pursuant to the Statutes.

Message from H. C. with Bills.

A Message from the House of Commons, by Mr. Lowtber and others:

Who brought up Two Bills; (videlicet,)

The one, intituled, "An Act for naturalizing Bartholomew Ogilvy and others."

The other, intituled, "An Act for naturalizing Peter Barailleau and others."

To which said Two Bills they desire the Concurrence of this House.

Berkeley versus Cope & al.

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That this House will hear the Cause wherein John Berkeley Esquire, Reginald Bretland Serjeant at Law, and Robert Fowle Goldsmith, are Appellants, and Jonathan Cope, William Cope, and Anthony Cope, Infants, by Sir Thomas Peshall Baronet, Sir Robert Jenkinson Baronet, and Henry Farmer Esquire, their Guardians, Respondents, on Wednesday the First Day of February next, at Eleven of the Clock in the Forenoon.

Carcassonet & al. Nat. Bill.

Hodie 1a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act for the Naturalization of John Francis de Carcassonet and others."

Corn, Malt, &c. to prohibit the Exportation of, Bill.

The Earl of Stamford reported from the Committee of the whole House, the Bill, intituled, "An Act to prohibit the Exportation of any Corn, Malt, Meal, Flour, Bread, Biscuit, or Starch, for One Year, from the Twentieth Day of January One Thousand Six Hundred Ninety-eight," as fit to pass, with several Amendments.

ORDERED, That the said Bill be re-committed, as to the Clause relating to Africa, to the Lords following; (videlicet,)

March. Halifax.
Comes Bridgewater.
Comes Stamford.
Comes Nottingham.
Comes Rochester.
Comes Bradford.
Ds. Godolphin.

Their Lordships, or any Three of them; to meet presently, in the Prince's Lodgings.

Then the House was adjourned during Pleasure, and the Lords of the Committee withdrew.

After some Time, the House was resumed.

And the Earl of Stamford reported, "That there appeared Matters of Difficulty in altering the Clause; and therefore desire they may meet again Tomorrow."

To which the House agreed.

Hensbergh's Nat. Bill.

Hodie 1a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act for the Naturalization of Remond Hensbergh."

Printing, for regulating, Bill.

The House was adjourned during Pleasure, and put into a Committee upon the Bill, intituled, "An Act for the better regulating of Printers and Printing Presses."

After some Time spent therein, the House was resumed.

And the Lord Bishop of Salisbury reported, "That the Committee had gone through the said Bill, with several Amendments."

Which were read Twice, and agreed to; and the Bill ordered to be engrossed, with the said Amendments.

Adjourn.
