Sir Thomas Cooke versus Attorney General.
Upon reading the Petition and Appeal of Sir Thomas
Cooke Knight, from a Decree made in His Majesty's
Court of Exchequer, the Ninth Day of November last,
on the Behalf of His Majesty's Attorney General,
the Commissioners of the Customs, John Crispe, Thomas
Crispe, Sir John Shaw Baronet, Richard Hutchinson,
Charles Bevoir, Thomas Bates, John

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal
in Parliament assembled, That His Majesty's Attorney
General, the Commissioners of the Customs, John
Crispe, Thomas Crispe, Sir John Shaw, Richard Hutehinson, Charles Bevoir, Thomas Bates, John

said Appeal; and shall and they are hereby required

Clayton versus Clayton.
After hearing Counsel, upon the Petition and Appeal
of John Clayton, Executor of Dame Mary Clayton,
who was Executrix of Sir Jasper Clayton, from Part
of an Order of the Court of Chancery, the Tenth Day
of June One Thousand Six Hundred Ninety-eight,
and from a subsequent Order of the Three and Twentieth Day of December last, on the Behalf of Prudence
Clayton; as also upon the Answer of the said Prudence
Clayton put in thereunto; and due Consideration of
what was offered thereupon:
Judgement affirmed.
It is ORDERED and Adjudged, by the Lords Spiritual
and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the said
Petition and Appeal of the said John Clayton shall be,
and is hereby, dismissed this House; and that the Orders therein complained of shall be, and they are hereby,
affirmed.
Countess of Newport's Privilege.
Upon reading the Petition of Susannah Countess
Dowager of Newport; complaining of a Breach of Privilege, being arrested and barbarously used by George
Wagstaffe and others:
It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal
in Parliament assembled, That the said Petition of the
Countess of Newport shall be, and is hereby, referred
to the Lords Committees for Privileges; who are to meet
on Monday next, at Four of the Clock in the Afternoon,
and, having heard such Persons concerning the same as
they shall think fit, are to report their Opinion to the
House.
Late Bishop of St. David's Writ of Error not received.
After hearing Counsel this Day, as ordered Yesterday,
upon the Lord Chief Justice of the Court of King's
Bench bringing in a Writ of Error, at the Prosecution of
Thomas late Bishop of St. David's, to this Point, "Whether the said Writ of Error be properly brought in this
Case:"
It is Resolved, upon the Question, That the said
Writ of Error shall not be received into this House.
