Die Mercurii, 26 Junii, 1644. Dies publicæ Humiliationis.

Preachers thanked.

ORDERED, That Mr. Rous, Mr. Salloway, and Mr. Nicoll, do, from this House, give Thanks unto Mr. Hardwick, and Mr. Hicks, for the great Pains they took in the Sermons they preached this Day, at the Intreaty of this House, at St. Margarett's, Westminster, it being the Day of publick Humiliation: And to desire them to print their Sermons: And they are to have the like Privilege in printing of them, as other in the like kind usually have had.

Preachers appointed.

Ordered, That Sir Robert Harley and Mr. Asherst do desire, from this House, Mr. Gower and Mr. Rathbone to preach before the Commons, the next Fast Day, at St. Margarett's, Westminster.

Ordination of Ministers.

Ordered, That Power be given to the Grand Committee and Sub-Committee for Ordination of Ministers, to make use of the Advice of the Divines of the Assembly, as they shall find Occasion.

Mr. Rowse is to acquaint them therewith: And are to meet To-morrow at Three of Clock.

The Covenant.

Ordered, That, the next Fast Day, the Covenant be tendered to such Members of this House, as have not yet taken it.

Ordered, That the President of the College of Physicians do call the Company of Barber Surgeons before them, and tender the Covenant to them; and to return the Names of such as refuse to take it, or are absent, and do not appear to take the same.

Ordered, That the Committee for the Covenant do make Report, on Friday next, of the Instructions for the more stricter taking of the Covenant.

Sir Thomas Widdrington, Sir Edw. Bainton, Mr. Thelvall, and Mr. Hallowes, this Day took the Covenant.
