Longe's Case.
Upon Report from the Committee of Petitions, of
Mr. Longe's Case, "That the Committee finds Mr.
Longe to have a good Title to his Land, and those
that have it in Possession can shew no Title to it:
Therefore the Opinion of the Committee is, That
Mr. Longe be restored to, and put into present
Possession of, his Estate, by the Sheriff of the
County."
Which the House ordered accordingly.

vice lecta est Billa, "An Act towards the Reparation and Satisfaction to be made unto John Lord
St. John, of Basing, Earl of Wilts, and Marquis of
Winchester, out of the Manors and Lands of Rob't
Wallop Esquire and Sir Thomas Jervoise Knight, deceased, for the Sum of Nineteen Thousand Pounds,
and Damages for the same, given unto them by the
late pretended Parliament, out of the said Marquis of
Winchester's Estate."
And the Question being put, "Whether this Bill
shall pass as a Law?"
It was Resolved in the Affirmative.
E. of Bristol's Bill.
Hodie 1a
vice lecta est Billa, "An Act towards the
Reparation and Satisfaction to be made unto George
Earl of Bristoll, out of the Manors and Lands of Carewe Raleigh Esquire, for the Sum of Six Thousand
and Five Hundred Pounds, which was raised out of
the said Earl's Estate, and paid to the said Carew Raleigh, for the Redemption of certain of the said Earl's
Lands, given to the said Carew Raleigh by the late
pretended Parliament."
Bill of Indemnity.
The House was adjourned into a Committee of the
whole House, to proceed in further Consideration of the
Bill of Indemnity.
The House being resumed;
Vote for disabling Sixteen Persons from holding Offices.
The Lord Robertes reported, "That the Opinion of
the Committee was, That if any of these Persons following, videlicet, William Lenthall Esquire, William
Burton, Oliver St. John, Colonel William Sydenham,
Colonel John Desborowe, John Blackwell of Mooreclack, Christopher Pack Alderman, Richard Keeble,
Charles Fleetewood, John Pyne, Richard Deane, Major
Richard Creede, Phillip Nye Clerk, John Goodwin Clerk,
Colonel Ralph Cobbett, and John Ireton Alderman,
shall hereafter accept or exercise any Office, Ecclesiastical, Civil, or Military, or any other Public Employment, within this Kingdom, Dominion of Wales,
Town of Barwick upon Tweede, or Ireland, that then
such Person or Persons, as do so accept or execute as
aforesaid, shall, to all Intents and Purposes in Law,
stand as if he or they had been totally excepted by
Name in this Act."
Which this House ordered the same accordingly.
Message from H. C. with Orders; and to remind the Lords of Peck's Order.
A Message was brought from the House of Commons,
by Colonel Birch; who brought up these particular
Orders, wherein they desired their Lordships Concurrence:
1. An Order for a Month's Pay to the Army.

Read, and Agreed to.
2. An Order to pay to Sir G. Booth Ten Thousand
Pounds.
3. To put their Lordships in Mind of an Order concerning Mr. Pecke, formerly brought up.
The Answer returned was:

That this House agrees to the Order for paying One
Month's Pay to the Army: As to the Business of Sir
George Booth, their Lordships will send them an Answer
speedily, by Messengers of their own: And concerning
the other Particulars, their Lordships will take them into
due Consideration in Time, and return an Answer by
Messengers of their own.

Ordered, That the Lord Chamberlain do acquaint
His Majesty with the Order concerning Sir George Booth.
Message to H. C. about acquainting the King with it.
A Message was sent to the House of Commons, by
Dr. Childe and
To acquaint, that their Lordships finding the Order concerning Sir George Booth to relate to Money
which their Lordships conceive is not in the disposing of
the Houses without the King, that their Lordships will
send to the King, to acquaint Him with (fn. *) it, who their
Lordships doubt not but will consent to it; and then they
shall receive a further Answer therein.

Ordered, That the Lord Pawlett's Cause shall be
heard this Afternoon, and no other Business.
Order to restore Longe to the Possession of his Estate.
Upon the Report from the Lords Committees for Petitions, "That the Lands of Robert Long Esquire, in
Gualters, in the County of Yorke, were illegally disposed of, aliened, and sold, without Summons, Hearing, or Conviction of the said Robert Longe, which
is contrary to the fundamental Laws of the Land:"
It is Ordered, by the Lords in Parliament assembled, That the said Dispositions, Alienations, and Sales,
be, and are hereby declared to be, null and void; and
that the said Robert Longe be, and is hereby, restored
to the Possession of the said Lands in Gualters aforesaid, in whose Hands soever the same are: And the
Sheriff and all other Officers of the said County are
hereby required to take Care that this Order be duly
executed, if Occasion shall require: And hereof all Persons whatsoever, whom this Order doth or may any Way
concern are to take Notice, and yield Obedience hereunto accordingly.
Order for 40,000£. for the Army.
"Ordered, by the Lords and Commons in Parliament, That Sir Thomas Player, Receiver General of
the Three Months Assessment of Seventy Thousand
Pounds by the Month, commencing the 24th of June
last, be, and hereby is, authorized and required to
give forth Assignations upon the Receivers and Collectors for the said Assessment, in the several Counties, for the Sum of Forty Thousand Pounds, towards
satisfying a Month's Pay for the Army, and to assign
the same upon such Counties where the Forces are
quartered, and in such Proportions as shall be
limited and appointed by the Committee for the Army; and that the Committee for the Army do take
the best Care they can, to make up and compleat
the said Forty Thousand Pounds to One full Month's
Pay for the Army."

Ld. Poulet to be restored to his Lands, conveyed to Trustees, for the Use of the Town of Lyme.
Upon hearing the Cause between the Lord Pawlett
and the Town of Lyme, by Counsel and Witnesses on
both Sides, and perusing of some Evidences, but not
the original Deeds, which were by Order of this House
to be produced at this Hearing; and upon Consideration of the whole Matter;
The Question was put, "Whether a Bill shall be
brought in, for restoring the Lord Pawlett
and his Heirs to his Lands conveyed by himself and his Father, and their Wives, to the
Trustees for the Town of Lyme ?"
And it was Resolved in the Affirmative.
John Ellison, the Mayor of Lyme, confessed, "he was
served with the Order of this House, for bringing in
the original Writings; and he sent down a Letter to
the Corporation, to acquaint them with it; and they
sent him a Letter, with a Denial of it. The said
Letter was subscribed by Gabriell West, Robert Burridge, John Ayres, and Ignatius Turner."
It is Ordered, That the Mayor of Lyme shall bring
in this Letter To-morrow Morning.
Upon hearing of the Cause between John Lord Pawlett Plaintiff, and the Corporation of the Town of Lyme
Regis Defendants, by Counsel [ (fn. *) and Witnesses] on
both Sides, this Day at the Bar; and the Lords perusing
such Evidences, Orders, and Writings, as were then
produced before their Lordships; and upon due and
mature Deliberation of the whole Matter by the said
House:
It is Ordered, by the Lords in Parliament, That a
Bill shall be brought into this House, for the restoring
of the said Lord Pawlett and his Heirs unto several Messuages, Lands, Tenements, and Hereditaments, called or
known by the Names of Duntish Parke, or Duntish Farme,
with the Appurtenances, in the Parish of Buckland, in
the County of Dorsett, and the Suits of Courts and other
Royalties belonging to the Manor of Marshwood, and several Messuages, Lands, and Tenements, in the Parish of
Whitchurch, in the said County of Dorsett, which were
formerly conveyed, by the said Lord Pawlett and his
Father, and their Ladies, jointly or severally, to Edmond Prideaux Esquire, deceased, and others, Trustees,
and their Heirs, for the Corporation of the Town of
Lyme Regis aforesaid; any former Conveyances whatsoever, from the said Lords and their Ladies, or any or
either of them, in any Wife notwithstanding.
