PRAYERS, by Dr. Hodges.

Bill concerning Persons in holy Orders holding Temporal Offices.

The House was adjourned into a Committee of the whole House, to consider of the Act of repealing of the Act for disabling Persons in holy Orders to exercise any Temporal Jurisdiction or Authority.

The House being resumed; the Earl of Anglesey reported, "That the said Bill hath been debated in the Committee; and in the Title, the Second Word ["An"] is to be made ["Act"], which is only miswritten: That the Committee have made Two Votes, which they offer to the Consideration of the House:

"1. That the Preamble of this Bill should pass as it stands in the Bill.

"2. That the Enacting Clause of this Bill should stand as it is in the Bill."

And this House confirmed the Opinion and Resolutions of the Committee in every Particular.

Hodie 3a vice lecta est Billa, "An Act to repeal an Act, intituled, An Act for disabling Persons in Holy Orders to exercise any Temporal Jurisdiction or Authority."

And the Question being put, "Whether this Bill, with this small Alteration, shall pass for a Law?"

It was Resolved in the Affirmative.
