Bill concerning Persons in holy Orders holding Temporal Offices.
The House was adjourned into a Committee of the
whole House, to consider of the Act of repealing of
the Act for disabling Persons in holy Orders to exercise any Temporal Jurisdiction or Authority.
The House being resumed; the Earl of Anglesey reported, "That the said Bill hath been debated in the
Committee; and in the Title, the Second Word
["An"] is to be made ["Act"], which is only miswritten: That the Committee have made Two Votes,
which they offer to the Consideration of the House:
"1. That the Preamble of this Bill should pass as
it stands in the Bill.
"2. That the Enacting Clause of this Bill should
stand as it is in the Bill."
And this House confirmed the Opinion and Resolutions of the Committee in every Particular.

And the Question being put, "Whether this
Bill, with this small Alteration, shall pass for

Upon reading the Petition of several Purchasers and
Mortgagees of Parcels of the Estate late belonging to
Charles Earl of Derby:
It is ORDERED, That the said Petition and Contents
thereof are hereby referred to the Committee formerly
appointed to consider of a Bill depending before the
Lords, concerning the Earl of Derby; and afterwards to
report their Opinions to this House.
