Additional Bill concerning Merchants Assurance.

The Earl of Portland reported from the Committee, the Bill for Assurances amongst Merchants; wherein the Committee have thought sit to make some Alterations, which they offer to their Lordships Consideration.

The said Alterations being read Twice, and Agreed to;

Then,

Hodie 3a vice lecta est Billa, "An additional Act touching Matters of Assurance used amongst Merchants."

The Question being put, "Whether this Bill, with the Alterations now read, shall pass?"

It was Resolved in the Affirmative.

Egerton discharged.

This Day William Egerton was brought to the Bar as a Delinquent; and having made his Submission to this House and the Earl of Clare, and received the Reprehension of the House for his Offence, he was released from his present Restraint.

Poor Bill.

Hodie 2a vice lecta est Billa, "An Act for the constituting Corporations in the Cities of London and Westm. and in the several Cities and Counties within the Kingdom of England and Dominion of Wales, and Town of Berwick upon Tweede, for the better Relief and Employment of the Poor; and for the preventing of Poor by the settling of them; and for the better Execution of the Law against Rogues and Vagabonds."

Admiralty Jurisdiction Bill.

ORDERED, That the Committee for the Bill of the Court of Admiralty is put off till Saturday next, in the Afternoon.

ORDERED, That the Duke of Bucks and the Duke of Richmond are added to the Committee for the Bill for regulating of the making of Cloth in Yorkeshire; and the Lord of Abergaveny is added to the Committee for Privileges.

Message to H. C. with the E. of Huntingdon's Bill; and about Two others.

A Message was sent to the House of Commons, by Sir Thomas Bennett and Dr. Littleton:

To deliver to them the Bill concerning the Earl of Huntingdon, and desire their Concurrence to the same; and to return the Bill which came from them, concerning Matters of Assurance amongst Merchants, with the Alterations, and to desire their Concurrence in the Alterations.

Also to let them know, that the Lords do agree to the Alterations in the Bill for vacating Sir Edward Powell's Fincs.
