PRAYERS.
Bill for Money for Officers who served the King during the late Troubles.
The Report was made from the Committee, of the
Amendments and Proviso appointed to be made, by Directions Yesterday, in the Bill concerning the distributing
of Threescore Thousand Pounds amongst the truly indigent and loyal Commissioned Officers; which, being
read Twice, were Agreed to; and then a new Proviso
was offered to the House, and read.
Message from H. C. to expedite the Bill for Uniformity of Worship.
A Message was brought from the House of Commons,
by Sir Thomas Meares and others:
To put their Lordships in Mind of giving Dispatch to
the Bill for Uniformity, as conceiving it to be of great
Consequence; and the rather, because they believe they
shall not sit long.
Bill for Money for Officers who served the King during the late Troubles.
After this, the House took again into Consideration
the Proviso now offered to be added to the Bill; which
was read again, in hæc verba, (videlicet,)
"Provided always, That nothing in this Act contained shall be drawn into Precedent, as to the disposing of Monies formerly granted to the King, or
to the taxing of any particular Sort of Men distinct
from the Body of the People."
And, after Debate, this Question was put, "Whether this Proviso shall be added to the Bill?"
It was Resolved in the Affirmative.

vice lecta est Billa, "An Act for Distribution of Threescore Thousand Pounds amongst the
truly loyal and indigent Commissioned Officers; and
for assessing of Offices, and distributing the Monies
thereby raised for their future Supply."
The Question being put, "Whether this Bill, with
the Amendments and Provisos, shall pass?"
It was Resolved in the Affirmative.
Costs in Writs of Error.
ORDERED, That the Committee for Privileges do
meet on Monday next, in the Afternoon, to consider of
the Business formerly referred unto them, for this House
giving Costs, in the Case of Writs of Error depending
before their Lordships; and in the mean Time the
Twenty Pounds Costs formerly given to Bye, against
Woodman, shall be remitted with the Record.
