PRAYERS.

Bill for Money for Officers who served the King during the late Troubles.

The Report was made from the Committee, of the Amendments and Proviso appointed to be made, by Directions Yesterday, in the Bill concerning the distributing of Threescore Thousand Pounds amongst the truly indigent and loyal Commissioned Officers; which, being read Twice, were Agreed to; and then a new Proviso was offered to the House, and read.

Message from H. C. to expedite the Bill for Uniformity of Worship.

A Message was brought from the House of Commons, by Sir Thomas Meares and others:

To put their Lordships in Mind of giving Dispatch to the Bill for Uniformity, as conceiving it to be of great Consequence; and the rather, because they believe they shall not sit long.

Bill for Money for Officers who served the King during the late Troubles.

After this, the House took again into Consideration the Proviso now offered to be added to the Bill; which was read again, in hæc verba, (videlicet,)

"Provided always, That nothing in this Act contained shall be drawn into Precedent, as to the disposing of Monies formerly granted to the King, or to the taxing of any particular Sort of Men distinct from the Body of the People."

And, after Debate, this Question was put, "Whether this Proviso shall be added to the Bill?"

It was Resolved in the Affirmative.

Hodie 3a vice lecta est Billa, "An Act for Distribution of Threescore Thousand Pounds amongst the truly loyal and indigent Commissioned Officers; and for assessing of Offices, and distributing the Monies thereby raised for their future Supply."

The Question being put, "Whether this Bill, with the Amendments and Provisos, shall pass?"

It was Resolved in the Affirmative.

Costs in Writs of Error.

ORDERED, That the Committee for Privileges do meet on Monday next, in the Afternoon, to consider of the Business formerly referred unto them, for this House giving Costs, in the Case of Writs of Error depending before their Lordships; and in the mean Time the Twenty Pounds Costs formerly given to Bye, against Woodman, shall be remitted with the Record.

Adjourn.

Dominus Capitalis Justiciarius de Com. Placit. declaravit præsens Parliamentum continuandum esse usque in diem crastinum, videlicet, 7um diem instantis Maii, hora decima Aurora, Dominis sic decernentibus.
