Message to H. C. with Briscoe's Bill; and that they agree to the following ones.
A Message was sent to the House of Commons, by
Sir Thomas Childe and Sir Moundeford Brampston
Knights:
To deliver them the Bill to empower Sir John Drake
and others to make Sale of Lands, for Payment of the
Portion of Ellen Briscoe, wherein their Lordships have
made some Alterations and Amendments, and desire the
Concurrence of the Commons therein.
2. To acquaint them, that the Lords agree to the
Amendments and Alterations in the Bill concerning the
Marquis of Worcester's Water Engine.
3. To let them know, that the Lords agree to these
Bills following, without any Alterations:
1. The Bill for settling the Charitable Gift of John
Guest.
2. The Bill against unlawful cutting, spoiling, and
destroying, of Wood and Underwood, and young
Timber Trees.
3. The Bill to enable Edward Challoner to sell
Land, for Payment of his Debts.
Heralds Bill for recording Descents, &c.
The Earl of Bridgwater reported, "That the Committee have very seriously considered of the Bill for
recording the Matches and Descents of the Nobility
and Gentry of England, and have made some Alterations and Amendments therein, which are offered to
the Consideration of their Lordships."
The said Alterations and Amendments were read
Twice.
And, after Debate thereof, it is ORDERED, To be
re-committed upon the whole Business.
And the Earl of Bristoll, the Lord Tenham, the Lord
Lucas, and the Lord Ashley, are added to the said Committee.
