The Question being put, "Whether this Bill shall pass?"

It was Resolved in the Affirmative.

Message from H. C. with a Bill.

A Message was brought from the House of Commons, by Mr. Crouch and others; who presented a Bill to enable John Newport Esquire to enter into certain Messuages lying in Westm. wherein they desire their Lordships Concurrence.

Bp. of Winton's Bill.

Hodie 1a vice lecta est Billa, "An Act to enable the Bishop of Winchester to lease out the Tenements now built upon the Site of his Mansion-house, in the Parish of St. Saviour's in Southwark, in the County of Surrey, and the Two Parks and other Demesnes at Bishop's Waltham, in the County of South'ton."

Newport's Bill.

Hodie 1a vice lecta est Billa, "An Act to enable John Newport Esquire to enter into certain Messuages lying in Westm.

Grimes & al. for arresting Herbert, E. of Midd's Servant.

Next, Francis Grimes Under Sheriff of the County of Warwick, and Thomas Meade his Deputy, and Thomas Rownd Bailiff, were brought to the Bar, as Delinquents, being attached for arresting Danyell Herbert, menial Servant to the Earl of Midd. contrary to the Privilege of Parliament.

And they pleaded, "That they did not know the said Danyell Herbert to be Servant to the Earl of Midd. until after he was arrested."

But Danyell Herbert, upon his Oath, did justify, That he told the said Thomas Rownd that he was Servant to the Earl of Midd. when he arrested him; yet notwithstanding he carried him to Prison."

Hereupon it is ORDERED, That the said Danyell Herbert be discharged forthwith of his present Imprisonment; and that the aforesaid Francis Grimes and Thomas Meade shall have the Admonition of this House, not to commit the like Offence for the future, and then be released from their present Restraint.

And further it is ORDERED, That the said Thomas Rownd shall remain in the Custody of the Serjeant at Arms attending this House, until the further Pleasure of this House be known.

Adjourn.

Dominus Cancellarius declaravit præsens Parliamentum continuandum esse usque in diem Lunæ, 18um diem instantis Maii, hora decima Aurora, Dominis sic decernentibus.
