L. Clifford's Privilege versus Carlile & al.
Whereas John Carlile and Francis Carlile, being
this Day brought to this Bar, have confessed that they
have shut up the Way, and barred the Passage for
Coaches, unto the Dwelling-house of the Lord Clifford, whereof he was in Possession, during the Sitting of this present Session of Parliament, which is
contrary to the Privilege of Parliament:
It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the Serjeant at
Arms attending this House, or his Deputy, shall forthwith attach the Bodies of the said John Carlile and
Francis Carlile, and keep them in safe Custody until
the Pleasure of this House be further signified; and
that the said John Carlile and Francis Carlile do immediately cause the said Way and Passage to be opened
again, in such Manner as it was at the Beginning of this
present Session of Parliament.
