PRAYERS.

The Lord Keeper acquainted the House, "That Her Majesty had sent a Commission for the further proroguing of this Parliament."

Then the Lords Commissioners, in their Robes, being seated on a Form placed between the Throne and the Woolsack; the Lord Keeper in the Middle; and the Lord Archbishop of Canterbury on his Right Hand; and the Lord Bishop of London on his Left Hand; commanded the Deputy Gentleman Usher of the Black Rod to go to the House of Commons, and let them know, "That the Commissioners desire they would be present, to hear the said Commission read."

Who being come, with their Speaker; the Commission was read, by the Clerk, as follows; (videlicet,)

De Fidelitate igitur, Prudentia, & Circumspectionibus vestris plurimum confidentes, de Avisamento & Assensu Concilii Nostri, assignavimus vos Commissionarios Nostros; dantes vobis, & aliquibus Tribus vel pluribus vestrum, Tenore Præsentium, plenam Potestatem & Auctoritatem, hoc instante Die Jovis, ad præsens Parliamentum Nostrum, Nomine Nostro, usque ad & in Diem Martis, Vicesimum Quartum Diem hujus instantis Octobris, apud prædictam Civitatem Nostram Westm. prorogandum & continuandum, ibidemque tunc tenendum & prosequendum; & ideo vobis mandamus, quod circa Præmissa diligenter intendatis, ac ea in Forma prædicta effectualiter expleatis. Then the Lord Keeper said,

Parliament prorogued

"My Lords and Gentlemen,

"By Virtue of Her Majesty's Commission now read, and to us directed, we do, in Her Majesty's Name, prorogue this Parliament to Tuesday the Four and Twentieth Day of this Instant October: And this Parliament is prorogued accordingly to Tuesday the Four and Twentieth Day of this Instant October."
