Entry 'On 7 January it was resolved that the President should sue Doctor Lewes, Judge of the Admiralty, in the name of the College, for allowing William Rich, a quack, committed to his charge in the Marshalsea prison, to practise medicine against the laws of the Kingdom, the terms of his custody, in contempt of the College and to the detriment of the Queen's subjects.'
