Horse-hides, &c.

MORE Committees added, upon Motion, in the Bill touching Horse-hides, and Hog-skins, &c. - Mr. James, Mr. Holland, Mr. Dammet, Sir John Hobart, Sir Nicholas Halswell, Mr. Petre, Mr. Kerveth, Mr. Field, Mr. Dottin, Mr. Noy, Mr. Peard, Mr. James of the Wight, Mr. Crewe: - These, with the rest, to meet presently in the Committee Chamber.

Clothing.

L. 3a. - The Amendments, and Proviso, in the Bill of Clothing, thirdly read.

Horse-hides, &c.

B. Touching Horse-hides and Hog-skins, &c. reported from the Committee by Mr. Noy, with Approbation and Allowance of the Bill as it came down from the Lords.

Sir Edw. Stanhope and Sir John Tyndall bring from the Lords Three Bills; viz.

Southampton Charter.

1. An Act for Confirmation of some part of a Charter

granted to the Town of Southampton, by King H. VI. &c. (formerly passed this House) with Amendments and a Proviso.

Timber.

2. An Act for the Preservation and Increase of Timber.

Great Seal of Scotland.

3. An Act whereby the Counterfeiting of his Majesty's Great Seal of Scotland, or Privy Seal of Scotland, is made High Treason.

Cavendish's Relief.

The Counsel on both Parts in the latter Bill for the Relief of Mrs. Cavendish, &c. according to former Order, came to the Bar.

Mr. Richison, for Sir Charles Cornwallys, against the Bill:

Mr. Gerrard, for Mrs. Cavendish,

Mr. Richison beginneth; and, before Mr. Gerrard answered, it was moved, the Bill might be re-committed, and the Counsel further heard before the Committee.

The Counsel on both Parts seeming contented with the Motion, it was so ordered by the House; and the Committee appointed to meet this Afternoon, in the Exchequer Chamber.

Great Seal of Scotland.

L. 1a. B. Whereby the Counterfeiting of his Majesty's Great Seal of Scotland, or Privy Seal of Scotland, is made High Treason.

Southampton Charter.

L. 1a. et 2a. - The Proviso sent down by the Lords, annexed to the Bill touching the Charter of Southampton, upon a first and second Reading, after some Dispute, put to the Question for Commitment; and, upon Question, resolved, not to be committed.

The said Proviso thirdly read, and again much argued pro et contra; put to Question, and passed.

Horse-hides, &c.

L. 3a. An Act to restrain the using of any Leather made of Horse-hides, Hog-skins, &c. - Upon a third Reading, and the Question, dashed.

Timber.

L. 1a. B. For the Preservation and Increase of Timber. Upon this first Reading, the Bill was spoken unto, and disputed, by reason of some apparent Mischiefs conceived to be in the Bill.

Curriers, &c.

L. 1a. et. 2a. - The Amendments in the Bill for Relief of poor Curriers, &c. twice read, and committed to the Committee formerly named for the Bill itself: - To meet this Afternoon in the " Exchequer Chamber [a]."

Watermen.

L. 1a. et 2a. - The Proviso and Amendments in the Bill touching Wherrymen and Watermen, &c. twice read, and committed to the Committees named for the Bill itself.
