Prayers.
REsolved, &c. That Sir John Boteler shall pay the last
Five hundred Pounds, the Remainder of his Fine for
his Delinquency, in Five Years, by One hundred Pounds
by the Year.
According to former Order, the House took into Consideration the Propositions ordered to be now sent to the
King; and not finished.
The Amendment, sent from the Lords, to the First Qualification of the Fifteenth Proposition, was read; and was,
for omitting the Earl of Derby, John Lord Paulett, Sir
John Byron, Sir John Strangewaies, and John Bodvill
Esquire; and to be left to the general Exception.
Resolved, &c. That this House doth adhere to the First
Qualification of the Fifteenth Proposition, as to the Names
of the Earl of Derby, John Lord Paulett, Sir John Byron,
Sir John Strangewaies, and John Bodevile Esquire, to
stand in.
An Ordinance for giving Power to Colonel Rainesborowe to execute Martial Law was this Day read; and,
upon the Question, passed; and ordered to be sent unto
the Lords for their Concurrence.
Sir Robert Pye carried to the Lords, for their Concurrence, the Ordinance for Martial Law for Colonel Rainsborowe: He likewise carried to the Lords the Concurrence
of this House to the Letter to the Emperor of Russia,
with one small Amendment.
Mr. Recorder reported from the Committee of both
Kingdoms, That another considerable Garison of the King's
will be surrendered, if they may have the same Terms
which the Garison of Ashby de la Zouch had. The House
did nothing upon this Report.
Resolved, &c. That this House doth agree with the
Lords, That George Carteret, now called Sir George Carterett, and Sir Charles Dallison Knight, shall be added to
the First Qualification of the Fifteenth Proposition.
The Question being put, Whether Richard Lane
Esquire, now Sir Richard Lane, shall be added to the
First Qualification of the Fifteenth Proposition;

Whereas Colonel Rainsborowe, in the Absence of Sir Thomas Fairefax, is, for some special Service, appointed
by the Committee of the Two Kingdoms to take the
Charge and Command of his own Regiment, and of certain Companies of Foot lately recruited: Be it Ordained,
by the Lords and Commons, That, for the good Government of the said Forces, the said Colonel Rainsborow,
during the Continuance of the said Command, shall have
Power and Authority, according to the Custom of War,
to execute Martial Law; and to punish, by Death or
otherwise, all such of the said Forces as shall offend, contrary to the Laws and Ordinances of War heretofore published by the Earl of Essex, and now in Force in the
Army under the said Sir Thomas Fairefax.
