Prayers.
ACcording to former Order, the Grand Committee
sat, to take into further Consideration the Ordinance
for preventing the Growth and Spreading of Heresy.

Mr. Speaker resumed the Chair.
An Ordinance for a further Explanation, and better
putting in Execution the late Ordinance, intituled, An Ordinance of the Lords and Commons, assembled in Parliament, for appointing the Sale of Bishops Lands for the
Use of the Commonwealth, was this Day read the First
and Second time.
The Question being put, Whether a Peny in the Pound
shall be allowed unto the Treasurers, upon the Debts due
upon Publick Faith, and to be now brought in, and a Peny
in the Pound upon the Defalcations;
The Question passed with the Negative.
Resolved, &c. That Twenty Shillings per diem shall be
allowed to the said Treasurers, for their Clerks and Tellers; the said Allowance to continue for a Year; and to
be distributed among them, according to the Discretion
of the said Treasurers.
Resolved, &c. That all Charges incident to the Treasury, which shall be discharged and paid by the said Treasurers, shall be allowed to them by the Committee formerly appointed to treat with the Committee of the Common-Council for the Advance of Two hundred thousand
Pounds upon the Sale of Bishops Lands, or any Five of
them.
Resolved, &c. That the former Committee shall fill up
the Blank in the Clause, concerning such as shall determine
the Validity of the Warrant of the Trustees to the Treasurers, and shall be the Committee named herein.
Resolved, &c. That a Clause shall be added to this Ordinance, That as well those as have not lent upon the Publick Faith, as those that have, that shall now bring in
any Monies, until the Sum of Two hundred thousand
Pounds be raised, shall have the same Security, and Repayment with Interest.
The Ordinance, thus amended, passed, upon the Question; and is ordered to be sent unto the Lords for their
Concurrence.
