Friday, the 25th of June, 1652.

Prayers.

Transactions with Holland.

THE Earl of Pembroke reports, from the Council of State, the Paper, prepared at the Council, in pursuance of an Order of Parliament, concerning Demands of Satisfaction and Security from the United Provinces: Which was this Day read: And afterwards the House took the same in Debate by Parts.

Resolved, That, in the first Proposition, instead of these Words, "their Preparations and Attempts," these Words be inserted; viz. "the Preparations of the said States General, and their Attempts."

And the First Proposition, so amended, being put to the Question, was agreed.

The Second Proposition being read;

Resolved, That these Words, "to be agreed upon," in the Second Proposition, being likewise put to the Question, was agreed.

The Third Proposition being read;

Resolved, That these Words, "for the time to come," be inserted into the Third Proposition, next after the Word, "Security."

The Question being propounded, To agree to this Third Proposition, so amended;

And the Question being put, That That Question be now put;

It passed in the Affirmative.

And the said Third Proposition, being put to the Question, so amended, was agreed.

Resolved, That the Council of State be impowered and required to press a speedy and positive Answer of these Propositions; and to report the same to the Parliament.

Resolved, That the Council of State be impowered to propound such Sum as they shall think fit, for Satisfaction, in order to the final Approbation of the Parliament.

Sovereignty of the Seas, &c.

Resolved, That it be referred to the Council of State, to prepare a Declaration, to assert the Right of this Commonwealth in the Sovereignty of the Seas, and to the Fishery; to be made use of, when the Parliament shall see Cause.

Army Accompts.

Ordered, That the Report touching the Soldiers Accompts, and Garisons, be made on Wednesday Morning next.

The House, according to former Order, adjourned itself to Tuesday Morning next, Eight of Clock.
