Prayers.
Settling the Government.
THE House, according to former Order, was this
Day resolved into a Committee of the whole House,
upon the Government.
Mr. Speaker left the Chair.
Mr. Hoskins was called to the Chair.
Mr. Speaker resumed the Chair.
Mr. Hoskins reports from the Committee, The Desire
of the said Committee, That the House would give them
Leave to sit again To-morrow, upon the Government.
Resolved, That the House be resolved into a Committee of the whole House To-morrow Morning, upon the
Government, according to former Order.
Sleigh's Petition.
The humble Petition of Sir Samuell Sleigh Knight, was
this Day read: But, being mistaken in the Direction, was,
by Leave of the House, delivered back again.
Ineligibility of Persons in Holy Orders.
The House being informed, that Colonel Nathaniel
Barton is returned to be a Member of this House; who
is in Holy Orders; and therefore disabled;
Ordered, That it be referred to the Committee of Privileges, to consider of this Business touching Colonel
Barton; and to state the Case, and Matter of Fact; and
report the same to the House, with their Opinion.
Ordered, That it be referred to the same Committee, to
take into Consideration all other Cases of the like Nature;
and to examine and state the same; and report the same
to the House.
Leave of Absence.
Resolved, That Edward Bainton Esquire, a Member of
Parliament, have the Leave of this House to go into the
Country for Three Weeks.
