Settling the Government.
THE House resumed the Debate adjourned Yesterday: And the Question then propounded, being
laid aside; It was
Resolved, by the Parliament, That such of the standing
Forces of this Commonwealth, as shall be agreed to be
continued upon the Charge of the Commonwealth, in
the Intervals of Parliament, shall be ordered and disposed
of for the Ends aforesaid, in the Intervals of Parliaments,
by this present Lord Protector, during his Life, by and
with the Advice and Consent of the said Council; and
not otherwise.
Scandalous Ministers.
Ordered, That the Bill for rejecting scandalous Ministers
be read the Second time, on Tuesday Morning next.
Settling the Government.
Resolved, That the Debate touching the disposing of
the Forces, after the Death of the present Lord Protector,
be adjourned till To-morrow Morning.
Members to attend.
The Serjeant was ordered to give Notice unto the
Lords Commissioners, Judges, and Lawyers, that are
Members of this House, to attend the Service of the
House, To-morrow Morning.
Settling the Government.
The House, according to former Order, was this Day
resolved into a Grand Committee of the whole House,
upon the Government.
Mr. Speaker left the Chair.
Mr. Hoskins was called to the Chair.
Mr. Speaker resumed the Chair.
Mr. Hoskins reports the Desire of the said Committee,
That the House would give Leave, that the Committee
may sit again on Wednesday Morning next, upon the
Government.
Resolved, That the House be resolved into a Committee
of the whole House, on Wednesday Morning next, upon
the Government.
Resolved, That the House do sit Forenoon and Afternoon, Three Days in every Week, viz. Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, till the Parliament take further
Order.
Religion.
Ordered, That the Grand Committee for Religion do
sit every Thursday in the Afternoon.
Countess of Stirling, &c.
Ordered, That the Petition of Mary Countess of Stirling, and John Blunt her Husband, Sir Robert Crook
Knight, and Dame Susan his Wife, Henry Alexander, alias
Zinzan, and Jacoba his Wife, Sackvile Glemham, and
Peter Glemham, be read on Tuesday Morning next.
