ORDERED, That Sir William Massam do, from
this House, give Thanks to Mr. Marshall and Mr.
Newcomen, for the great Pains they took in the Sermons
they preached this Day, at the Intreaty of this House, at
St. Margarett's, Westminster, it being the Day of Publick
Humiliation; and to desire them to print their Sermons:
And they are to have the like Privilege in printing of
them, as others, in the like kind, usually have had.
Preachers appointed.
Ordered, That Mr. Nicoll do, from this House, desire
Mr. Obadiah Sedgewick to preach before the Commons,
at St. Margarett's, Westminster, the next Fast Day.
Ordered, That Mr. Whitehead do, from this House,
desire Mr. Arrowsmith to preach before the Commons,
at St. Margarett's, Westminster, the next Fast Day.
The Covenant.
Ordered, upon the Question, That all the Members of
the House that have not yet taken the Covenant, do, on
the next Fast Day, positively take the Covenant: And
that the Clerk do give a List of the Members that have
not yet taken the Covenant, to the Serjeant: And that
he give them that are or shall be in Town before that
Time, particular Notice of this Order.
LayPreachers, &c.
Ordered, upon the Question, That, on Friday next,
the Grand Committee do meet, the first Business, to take
into Consideration, in the first place, the Ordinance sent
from the Lords, concerning Persons preaching that are
not in Orders; and, in the next place, the Ordinance for
punishing and preventing the Spreading and Growth of
Blasphemies.
Relief of Tenants.
Ordered, That the next Day that is appointed for Reports from Goldsmiths Hall, before any Reports be made,
Mr. Swynfen do make Report of the Ordinance for Relief
of well-affected Tenants, against Delinquent Landlords.
League and Covenant.
Mr. John Herbert, Mr. Charles Vaughan, Mr. Thomas
Pury junior, Mr. Wm. Wray, Mr. Wm. Davies, Sir
Humfrey Briggs, Mr. Richard Price, Mr. Thomas
Wogan, Mr. John Trevor, this Day took the National
League and Covenant.
