Forces and Garisons.
ACCORDING to the Order Yesterday made, the
House proceeded to the Consideration, How the
Forces and Garisons of the Kingdom may be disposed,
and provided for.
Message to Lords.
Sir Robert Pye carried to the Lords, for their Concurrence, an Order for Two thousand Pounds, to be paid to
Colonel Greves, upon Account, out of Goldsmiths-Hall:
An Order for Threescore Twelve Pounds and Elevenpence for Mr. Hodgson, Clerk to the Treasurers of the
Four Subsidies, granted 16° Car. Regis, out of the Remainder of the Monies in the Hands of the said Treasurers: The Certificate of the Accounts of the Treasurers
for the Four Subsidies, 16° Caroli Regis: The Order
concerning Six thousand Pounds, formerly granted to the
County of Nottingham out of Goldsmiths-Hall: And was
likewise to put the Lords in mind of the Ordinance, for
the better Regulating of the University of Oxon.
Forces and Garisons.
The Question being put, Whether there should be a
Number of Foot kept up at the Pay of the Kingdom,
more than what will be sufficient for the keeping of such
Garisons as shall be continued;
The House was divided.
The Yeas went forth.
