ORDERED, That Mr. Tate do, from this House,
give Thanks unto Mr. Sedgwick, for the great Pains
he took in his Sermon preached this Day at Margarett's,
Westminster, before the House of Commons, it being a
Day of Publick Humiliation: And that he be desired to
print his Sermon: Wherein he is to have the like Privilege
of printing it, as others in the like kind usually have had.
Ordered, That Colonel Wilson do, from this House,

Ordered, That the Committee to whom the Petition of
the Lord Mayor and Common Council of the City of
London, touching the Augmentation of Ministers Maintenance, within the Province of London, is referred, have
Power to send for, and confer with, such Persons of the
said Province as they shall think fit, upon the Matters
contained in the said Petition.
I. of Wight and King's Person.
A Letter from Carisbrook Castle, of 28 Novembris
1648, with the Copies of Two several Letters, signed,
"By the Appointment of the General Council of Officers
at Windsore, 25 Novembris 1648;" the one directed "To
Colonel Robert Hamond, Governor of the Isle of Wight,
or to Colonel Ewers, or the Chief Commander of the
Forces there;" the other directed "To Colonel Hammond,
Governor of the Isle of Wight;" and Instructions from
Colonel Hamond to Sir Robert Dillington Baronet; and
other Instructions to Captain Thomas Bowerman, Major
Edmund Rolffe, and Captain Howes, for the Safety of the
Island, and Care of the King's Person, in the Absence of
Colonel Hammond; were all this Day read.
Ordered, That a Letter be written to the General, acquainting him with the Letter, and Orders received from
Colonel Hamond; and to acquaint him, That his Orders
given to Colonel Ewer, is contrary to the Resolution
of the Houses, and the Instructions given to Colonel
Hamond; and to desire him to recall the said Order, and
to command Colonel Hamond presently to return back to
his Charge in the Isle of Wight.
Mr. Swynsen and Colonel White are to prepare this
Letter.
