MR. Corbett reports the Amendments to the Ordinance for the Regulating of the Affairs of the
Navy.
Which Amendments were this Day read the First and
Second time: And, upon the Question, the said Ordinance
was re-committed.
Mr. Pryn refuses attendance.
The House being informed, that Weaver, a Servant
to the Serjeant at Arms that attends this House, who was,
by Warrant under Mr. Speaker's Hand, sent to take Mr.
Prynn into safe Custody, and to bring him to this House,
was at the Door;
He was called in; and then he informed the House,
That he did repair to Mr. Prynn, and served the said
Warrant upon him: That Mr. Prynn thereupon gave him
this Answer; viz. That upon the Sixth of December last,
as he was coming to do his Duty in the House of Commons, he was taken by Colonel Pryde and Sir Hardres
Waller; and by them imprisoned, he knew not for what
Cause: That he yet remains under that Restraint; and is
not yet discharged from that Imprisonment: And that
therefore he would not come upon that Warrant.
