Lincolne Assessment.
BE it Ordered and Enacted, and it is hereby Ordered
and Enacted, by the Commons of England, assembled in Parliament, That the Committee of the County of
Lincolne be, and is hereby, impowered and authorized to
lay an Assessment of Two thousand Five hundred Pounds
upon the said County, for Relief of the Forces before
Pontfract.
Letters from Scotland.
A Letter from the Commissioners of the Committee of
Estates of the Parliament of Scotland, of the Two-andtwentieth of this instant January 1649, directed to the
Speaker of the House of Commons, with a Paper therein
inclosed, were this Day read.
Another Letter, formerly sent from the Commissioners
of the Committee of Estates of the Parliament of Scotland,
of * * * ; whereby they express their Desire of having
their Letter of the Sixth of this Month, directed to the
Speaker of this House, communicated to this House;
and the said Letter from them, of the Sixth of January
instant; and a Copy of their Instructions from the Committee of Estates of the Parliament of Scotland, of the
said Sixth of January instant; were all this Day read.
Ordered, That the Letters and Papers sent from the
Commissioners of the Estates of Scotland, to be communicated to the House, which were this Day read, be referred to the Consideration of the Committee who is to
consider of fit Persons to be sent to the Parliament of
Scotland, to prepare and present to the House an Answer
to be made thereunto: And Sir Henry Vane junior, and
Mr. Challoner, are added to this Committee.
