Sheriff of Durham.
ORDERED, That Sir William Smith Baronet is
nominated and approved of to be High Sheriff of the
County of Durham: And that the Commissioners of the
Great Seal of England do issue a Commission to him to be
Sheriff of the said County accordingly.
Wakeman.
Ordered, That Robert Wakeman be hereby constituted
and appointed one of the Five Under Searchers in the
Port of London, in the place and stead of Mr. Henry
Wilkin, lately deceased, in Compensation of the Loss of
the Employment of the said Robert Wakeman, in the late
Court of Star Chamber.
Embassy from Holland.
The Answer to the Paper delivered by the Ambassadors from the States General was this Day read; and
several Amendments offered at the Table.
Which Answer, with those Amendments, was read;
and, upon the Question, agreed unto.
Ordered, That the Clerk of this House be required not
to deliver, or permit any Copy to be made out of the
Papers delivered to this House by the States Ambassadors.
Ordered, That the Master of the Ceremonies do forthwith attend the Ambassadors, Ordinary and Extraordinary, from the High and Mighty Lords, the States General of the United Provinces; and to know their Pleasure,
What Day they will appoint, to receive an Answer from
this House.
Agent in Frauce.
Ordered, That the Committee of Revenue be required
forthwith to pay unto Mr. Augiers, Agent in France, or
his Assigns, the Arrears of his Allowance in ordinary,
and his extraordinary Charges, for the better enabling
him to perform the present and necessary Service, in
which he is employed for this State; and to take special
Care that the same be duly paid for the future.
Obnoxious Publication.
Ordered, That it be referred to the Committee for
Consideration of the Book intituled, "The Vindication
of the Ministers, &c." to receive the Information given,
touching Mr. French; and to examine the Truth of it;
and report to this House.

Colonel Ludlow, Lord Grey, Colonel Lassells, Sir John
Danvers, Mr. Love, Lord Munson, Sir Tho. Maleverer,
Sir Wm. Alanson, Sir James Harrington, Colonel Harvey,
Colonel Morley, Mr. Leman, Mr. Anlaby, Mr. Weaver,
Mr. Oldsworth, Colonel Hutchinson, Mr. Dove, Major
General Skippon, Mr. Carey, Mr. Brewster, Mr. Smith,
are added to the Committee for the Revenues, of the
Dean and Chapter of Westminster.
Trying E. of Cambridge, &c.
Ordered, That Edward Dendy, Serjeant at Arms, be
injoined to make Proclamations of the High Court of
Justice, erected by an Act, intituled, An Act for erecting
an High Court of Justice, for Trying and Adjudging of
James Earl of Cambridge, &c. both in Cheapside, and at
the Old Exchange.
Ordered, That Mr. Garland do bring in an Act for
adding Robert Sparrow, John Hardwick, Thomas Hubbert, * Barkley, Sir John Thorowgood, of Kensington,
Knight, * Cresset, * Owen Rowe, Sir William Rowe
Knight, to be Commissioners, with others, for trying and
adjudging James Earl of Cambridge, Henry Earl of
Holland, and others.
Dissent to Vote 5 Dec.
Sir Wm. Brewerton declares his Disapproval of the
Vote of Fifth December 1648.
