Prayers.

Oaths by Committees.

AN Act enabling Committees of Parliament to administer Oaths, was this Day read the First and Second time.

And the Question being put, That this Bill be Committed;

It passed with the Negative.

And the Question being put, That the Bill do now pass;

It passed with the Negative.

Ordered, That it be referred to a Committee, to consider of and examine the Powers of the Committee at Haberdashers Hall; and present their Opinions to this House, What Powers are fit to be continued to be added or taken away from that Committee; and also to take the Accompts of that Committee since the last Accompt; and to look into the former Accompt, if they find Cause.

Commissary General Ireton, Lord Munson, Colonel Bosvile, Mr. Burrell, Colonel White, Mr. Stephens, Mr. Gourdon, Colonel Ludlowe, Mr. Millington, Mr. Reynolds, Major Salway, Mr. Tho. Challener, Mr. Carew, Colonel Hutchinson, Colonel Purefoy, Mr. John Ashe, Colonel Rigby, Mr. Long, Mr. Hill, Mr. Scott, Sir John Bourchier, Sir William Strickland, Mr. Trenchard, Sir William Allanson, Sir Peter Wentworth, Mr. Lechmere, Colonel Venn, Mr. Martyn, Mr. Dove, Colonel Thompson, Mr. Holland, Mr. Hum. Edwards; or any Five of them: And the Committee are to meet at the Committee of Haberdashers Hall, at Two of the Clock this Afternoon: And have Power to send for Persons, Papers, Records, &c.: And the special Care thereof is commended to Mr. Lechmere, Mr. Long, and Colonel White.

Army Accompts.

Commissary General Ireton reports Amendments to an Act for the present examining and stating the Accompts of the Officers and Soldiers now in the Parliament Service, within this Nation: Which Amendments were twice read; and, upon the Question, assented unto.

And the Act, so amended, was, upon the Question, passed.

Ordered, That this Act be forthwith printed and published.

Parliamentary Records, &c.

Ordered, That Mr. Garland do make Report on Thursday next, touching the Records of the Parliament, and touching Mr. Browne's Satisfaction, the first Business; nothing to intervene.

Petition of Lady Hungerford, &c.

Ordered, That the Petition of the Lady Hungerford, Sir John Danvers, and Sir Nevill Poole, be read To-morrow Morning.

Saltpetre, &c.

Mr. Scott reports from the Council of State, an Act touching making Saltpetre and Gunpowder: Which was this Day read the First time; and, upon the Question, rejected.
