touching the Engagements.
Sheriff of York.
Resolved, upon the Question, by the Parliament, That
Sir John Savile Knight be, and is hereby nominated and
approved of to be, High Sheriff for the County of York:
And that the Lords Commissioners of the Great Seal do
issue a Commission to him, under the Great Seal of England, to be Sheriff of the said County accordingly.

Ordered, by the Parliament, That the Report touching
Mr. Stringer, be made This-day-sevennight.
Ly. Southcot.
Ordered, by the Parliament, That the Lady Southcot's
Petition be read This-day-fortnight.

Ordered, That the Petition of the Governor and Company of Merchants of London, trading to the East Indies,

Walker, de Liverpoole, Gentleman; Wm. Williamson
Gentleman; Robert Bickerstaff, of Aughton, Gentleman;
Savile Ratcliffe Esquire; John Hartley Esquire; James
Ashton, of Chatterton Esquire; Peter Holt Esquire; Alexander Norris, of Bolton, Esquire; Samuel Birch, of Ardwick, Gentleman; Thomas Strangwaies, of Gorton, Esquire;
George Towlnson, of Lancaster, Gentleman; and Wm.
West Gentleman; be added and named Commissioners for
collecting the Ninety thousand Pounds per mensem, for the
Army in the County of Lancaster.

A Letter from Dublyn, the Twentieth of October 1649,
from Nathaniel Drinkwater; a Letter from Dublyn, of
20 Octobris 1649, from Mr. Basill; were both this Day
read.
Goldsmiths Hall Revenue.
The House this Day proceeded in the Debate upon the
Report from Goldsmiths Hall.
Ordered, That it be referred to the Committee at Goldsmiths Hall, to consider of the Rules already given concerning Appeals of Delinquents, and to present to the
House what Course they shall think sit to be taken for
Quickening of that Business, that, by their Delays, the
State may not be prejudiced.
Ordered, That the Order made Yesterday, That all
Treasurers, Sub-Collectors, Committees, and other Officers of Sequestrations, in the several Counties, be injoined,
from henceforth, not to make Payment of any Rents,
Issues, and Profits of sequestred Estate, by them received, or to be received, to any other Person, save unto
the Treasurers of Goldsmiths Hall, be forthwith printed
and published: And that the Members of Parliament do
forthwith send down the same to the several Committees
in the Country; who are required to take care the same
be observed accordingly.
Ordered, That all such Lands of Papists in Arms, and
of Persons excepted from Pardon, as shall be in the
Power of the Parliament, shall be disposed of and applied for publick Uses of the Commonwealth, in order to
abate the Assessments, saving former Engagements, and
due Rewards for Discoveries.
Ordered, That it be referred to the Committee of
Goldsmiths Hall, to prepare several Acts in Prosecution of
these Votes, and to present the same to the House.
Preacher appointed.
Ordered, That Mr. Bond be desired to preach before the
Parliament, in Margarett's Church, Westminster, on the
Fifth Day of November next: And that Sir Wm. Masham
do give notice hereof.
Popish Recusents.
Resolved, &c. That no Papist, nor Popish Recusant,
who hath been, now is, or shall be actually, in Arms, or
voluntarily assisting against the Parliament, shall be admitted to Composition; saving the Right of Articles of
War, confirmed by this House.
