Prayers.

Fee-farm Rents.

ORDERED, That the Act for Sale of the Feefarm Rents be forthwith ingrossed, and brought in on Monday Morning next.

Pardon of Smith, &c.

A Certificate of the Commissioners for the Discovery of Deceits practised upon the Coin of this Nation, was this Day read; and followeth; in hæc verba; viz.

"To the Right honourable the Barons of the Exchequer.

The humble Certificate of the Commissioners for the Discovery of Deceits practised upon the Coin of this Nation;

Sheweth,

"That whereas a Commission was granted to us, under the Seal of this honourable Court, for Discovery of Transporters, Clippers, and Defacers of the Coin of this Kingdom: And forasinuch as it was ordered, by the Lords and Commons in Parliament, by an Order of the Three-and-twentieth of September 1648, That every Person and Persons, though faulty themselves, that shall discover such other Offenders, shall, upon a Certificate, under the Hands and Seals of the Commissioners in the Commission named, or any Two or more of them, whereof Edward Walkins Esquire to be one, with the Approbation of the Attorney or Solicitor General for the Time being, shall be, by the said Barons, discharged of and from all Penalties to be imposed on him or them, for so much as he or they shall confess, and as shall or may concern him or themselves only, and no more: And his Majesty's Attorney or Solicitor for the Time being, respectively, are not to proceed against any the said Persons for or by reason of the Premises; but that the said Parties so declaring as aforesaid, be discharged by the said Attorney or Solicitor's Confession, or otherwise, according to the Course of the said Court of the Exchequer in like Cases: Now know all Men by these Presents, That we, whose Names are here underwritten, do certify, That Ralph Smith and Edward Holme, of the Parish of Leigh in the County of Lancaster, Naylors, have discovered Ralph Harper, Robert Alred, John Mullineux, Robert Nayler, John Walters, Richard Wayte, Hope Mall, Wm. Hatton, and divers others, as will more at large appear by several Papers now depending before the Committee of the Revenue, to be Clippers and Coiners; and therefore we humbly conceive them Persons fit to enjoy the Benefit of the said Order of Parliament. Given under our Hands and Seals this Twenty-eighth of March 1649."

Ordered, by the Parliament, That Mr. Attorney General be, and is hereby, authorized and required to draw up a Pardon for Ralph Smyth and Edward Holme, according to the said Certificate: And that the Lords Commissioners for the Great Seal of England be, and are hereby, required and authorized to pass the said Pardon under the Great Seal of England accordingly.

Merchants Ships, &c.

Mr. Thomas Challenor reports from the Council of State, a Bill for preventing and Redress of Injuries done at Sea to the Ships and Goods of the Merchants of this Commonwealth, by Ships of other Nations, under Pretence of visiting them, and for recalling and inhibiting the Mariners and Seamen of this Nation from serving other Princes and States:

Which was this Day read the First and Second time; and, upon the Question, committed to the Committee of the Navy: And that Sir Henry Vane, Colonel Harrison, Sir James Harrington, Mr. * Challenor, Mr. * Corbett, Mr. Ed. Ash, Mr. Boone, Mr. Clement, Mr. Ralegh, Mr. Stephens, Mr. Fry, Colonel Purefoy, Mr. Hodges, Sir Henry Milmay, Sir Michael Livesey, Mr. Garland, Mr. Darley, Colonel Venne, Mr. Dove, Colonel Downes, Sir Wm. Masham, Mr. Leman, Sir Peter Wentworth, Mr. * Holland, Lord * Lisle, be added to that Committee, for this Purpose: And that they, or any Five of them, are to meet this Afternoon at Two of the Clock, in the Treasury Chamber: And to be brought in on Tuesday Morning next.

And Mr. Stephens is to take Care of it.

Mayor of Hull.

The humble Petition of Peregrine Pelham Esquire, a Member of the Parliament, was this Day read.

Resolved, That, at the Instance of Peregrine Pelham Esquire, a Member of Parliament, now Mayor of the Town of Kingston upon Hull, Mr. Thomas Rakes, one of the Aldermen of the said Town, be authorized and required to officiate and exercise the Office of Mayor or the said Town, as Deputy to the said Mr. Pelham, until the said Mr. Pelham's necessary Service in Parliament will permit him to attend the Execution of the said Place and Office of Mayor there.

Fee-farm Rents.

Ordered, That the Act for Sale of the Fee-farm Rents be read the Third time on Monday Morning the First Business; nothing to intervene.

Excise.

Ordered, That the Business of the Excise be taken into Consideration on Monday, next after that Bill of the Feefarm Rents: And that the Committee be injoined to meet this Afternoon; and to prepare the same against that Time.

Indemnity of Tenants, &c.

An Act for Indemnity of Tenants, and others, who have, in the late Wars, expressed their good Affection to the Parliament, against the Injuries and Oppressions of their ill-affected Landlords, and other Persons, that have adhered to the late King against the Parliament, was this Day read the Second time; and, upon the Question, Committed unto Mr. * Challenor, Lord Grey, Mr. Holland, Sir Henry Mildmay, Mr. Darley, Colonel Harrison, Mr. Fry, Colonel Jones, Mr. Carey, Mr. Trenchard, Mr. Leaman, Mr. Attorney General, Mr. Hodges, Colonel Downes, Colonel Purefoy, Mr. Haies, Mr. James Challenor, Mr. Pelham, Colonel Ven, Sir Gilbt. Pickering, Colonel Bossevile, Mr. Boone, Sir Arthur Hesilrig, Mr. Salwey, Mr. Allen; or any Five of them: And all that will come to have Voices: And are to meet on Tuesday in the Afternoon at Two of Clock, in the Exchequer Chamber.
