Prayers.
Carlisle.
SIR Arthur Hesilrig reports from the Council of State,
an Estimate of the Charge for the effectual Repair of
Carlisle.
Resolved, That Sir John Wolstenholme ought to pay his
Fifth, and Twentieth Part.
Ordered, That the Sum to be paid by Sir John Wolstenholme, for his Fifth, and Twentieth Part, be paid for the
Repairs of the Garison of Carlisle: And that the Committee of Haberdashers Hall be required to take care,
that the same be paid accordingly.
Resolved, That the Dwelling Houses of the late Dean
and Prebends of Carlisle, in Carlisle aforesaid, be put to
Sale in the last Place: And that, in the mean time, until
Sale thereof, the same shall be made use of for Storehouses for that Garison: And the Trustees and Contractors for Sale of the said Dean and Chapters Lands are to
to take Notice hereof.
Repayment to Weavers Hall.
Ordered, That the Order of 2 Aprilis 1650, for the Repaying of the Twenty-seven thousand Four hundred Pounds
to the Treasurers at Weavers Hall, formerly made use of
for the Army, as the said Sum, or any Part thereof, is or
shall come in to the Treasury at Guildhall, out of the Arrears charged upon the City of London, for the Army,
unto the Twenty-fifth of March 1648, be amended, and
made unto the Twenty-fifth of March 1649.
Transactions with Portugal.
A Letter from aboard the George, in the Bay of Wegres, near Lisbone, from Colonel Blake, of the Twentyninth of March 1650, with several Proceedings between
the King of Portugall and the General of the Parliament's
Fleet, therein inclosed, were all this Day read.
A Letter from Charles Vane, Agent for the Parliament
of England, from Lisbone, the Third Day of April 1650,
was this Day also read.
Ordered, That the Letter for General Blake, and the
Papers inclosed, be referred to the Council of State.
Ordered, That it be referred to the Council of State
to prepare several Letters, to be sent from the Parliament
to General Blake, and to the Agent at Portugall: And
that Mr. Speaker be authorized to sign the same.
Propagating the Gospel.
An Act for Continuance of the Act, intituled, An
Act for the better Propagating of the Gospel in the Four
Northern Counties of Northumberland, Cumberland, Westmerland, and Duresme, until the First Day of April 1653,
and no longer, was this Day read; and, upon the Question, passed.
