Prayers.

Examinations of Coke.

RESOLVED, That the Report concerning Mr. Coke be made on Thursday Morning next.

Transactions with Portugal.

The Lord Commissioner Whitelock reports from the Council of State, The Transactions between them and the Agent from the King of Portugall, contained in several Papers.

Which were now read.

Resolved, That Mr. Speaker do take the Chair on Wednesday next, at the usual Hour, notwithstanding the former Order: And that this Report be then taken into Debate.

Translation of Law Proceedings.

An Act for referring the Translations of the Proceedings in the Law to the Lords Commissioners, Master of the Rolls, and the chief Judges of the Upper Bench, Common Pleas, and Exchequer, was this Day read the First and Second time; and, upon the Question, committed to the Committee for Regulations of the Proceedings in Law: And that the said Committee do proceed de die in diem; and to bring it in forthwith.

Provost Marshal.

Ordered, That Six Men more shall be added, to attend the Provost Marshal, for the Service of the Parliament for Three Months: And that they be allowed Two Shillings der diem for each of them: And that there be added unto . . Lieutenant Marshal Two Shillings per diem, for his Pay, for the same time: And that they be paid by the Committee of the Army.

Army.

Ordered, That the Comptroller of the Ordnance, One Clerk, and One Gunner, do continue in these Parts under the immediate Command of Major General Harrison: And that they be added to the Establishment of the Army: And that the said Comptroller have Five Shillings per diem, the Clerk Two Shillings and Six-pence per diem, and the Gunner Two Shillings and Six-pence per diem, from the time they were first employed by the Council of State until September next: And that the Committee of the Army do pay them accordingly.

Lichfield Cathedral.

Resolved, That the Cathedral of Lichfield be disposed of for the Use of the Poor, to set them on Work.

The Question being propounded, That out of the Money to be raised out of the Materials of the said Cathedral, the Sum of Fifteen hundred Pounds be allotted for a Stock for setting the Poor of the County of Stafford on Work;

And the Question being put, That that Question be now put;

It passed with the Negative.

Resolved, That the Profits to be made by the Cathedral of Lichfield shall be disposed of, one Moiety for the Poor of the County of Stafford, and the other Moiety for the Poor of the rest of the Counties which were within the Diocese.

Resolved, That the Justices of Peace of the several Counties which were within that Diocese, be enabled, by a Commission under the Great Seal of England; which the Lords Commissioners for the Great Seal are hereby authorized to seal, and to appoint so many of the Justices of the respective Counties to be of the Quorum, as they shall think fit; to take Care of the Improvement, and Distribution to be made according to the former Vote; and that the same be employed for the Use of the Poor, in setting them to Work, in the respective Counties, accordingly.

The House, according to former Order, adjourned itself to Tuesday Morning next, Eight of Clock.
