Provost Marshall.

THE humble Petition of Lancelot Emot, Provost Marshal of Middlesex and Westminster, on Behalf of himself, and Six Men, ordered by Parliament to attend the Speaker, and to assist the Petitioner in the Execution of his Office, was this Day read.

Ordered, That it be referred to the Committee, to whom the Arrears of the Lord General's Twenty thousand Pounds is referred, to consider of the said Petition; and to report their Opinion, what is fit to be done for Payment of the Petitioner's Salaries therein mentioned.

Debts due to Lord Willoughby, &c.

Ordered, That it be referred to the same Committee, to consider of the Monies due to the Lord Willoughby of Parham, and to Mr. Henry Peck, upon Orders of Parliament; and to report their Opinion how the same may, with most Conveniency, be satisfied.

Ordered, That it be referred to the same Committee, to inform themselves what Monies remain in the Hands of any the Receivers of Papists Estates; and to report the same, with their Opinion what will be fit to be done for the getting of the same in; that Consideration may be had of satisfying the Money due to Mr. Peck, and the Provost Marshal of Middlesex, out of the same, as shall appear meet.

Ordered, That Five be the Quorum of the said Committee; and that they have Power to send for Persons, Papers, Witnesses, and Records: And Sir Ralph Knight, Sir Water Earle, and Colonel White, are added to the Committee.

Leave of Absence.

Ordered, That Wm. Stroud Esquire, a Member of this House, have the Leave of this House to go into the Country.

Prize Goods.

Mr. Pryn reports from the Committee for publick Debts, that, upon examining the Accompts of Richard Blackwall, John Sparrow, and Humphrey Blake, from the Year 1649, to 1652, as late Collectors of Prize Goods, there appears to be due, and owing to the State, by the said Persons, on the Foot of their said Account, the Sum of Forty-one thousand Four hundred Ninety-five Pounds Five Shillings Three-pence Farthing.

Resolved, That the said Sum of Forty-one thousand Four hundred Ninety-five Pounds Five Shillings Threepence Farthing, is a Debt justly due and owing to the State, from the said Mr. Blackwall, Mr. Sparrow, and Mr. Blake.

Publick Debts.

Ordered, That the Bill for stating of publick Debts, and discovering Frauds and Concealments, be read the Second time on Monday next.

Prize Goods.

Ordered, That it be recommended to the Lords Commissioners of the Treasury, to put it into a speedy and effectual Way, that Richard Blackwall, John Sparrow, and Humphrey Blake, late Collectors for Prize Goods, be called to Account in the Exchequer, for all Prize Goods, by them received, from the Year 1649 to 1652; and to cause their Accompts, for that time, to be formally stated; and the Monies that shall be due on the Foot thereof, to be levied according to Law; to the Intent the Monies may be applied for Payment of such publick Debts, as the same shall be designed unto by Parliament.

Protection of Persons making Discoveries.

Ordered, That all Persons who shall attend the Committee of Discoveries, in order to the making of Discoveries of Monies, or other Estate, due to, and concealed from, the Publick, shall have the Protection of this House from all Arrests, and Molestations, in their Attendance of that Committee; and in their going to, and returning from, the said Committee for the Purpose aforesaid: And in Case any Person, serviceable in that Kind, hath been, or shall be, threatened, molested, or otherwise discouraged, in prosecuting of that Service, it is referred to the said Committee, to examine every Case of that Nature, and to report the same, from time to time, to the House.

Queen's Jointure, &c.

Mr. Hollis reports from the Committee for the Queen's Jointure, a Schedule of the Honours, Manors, and Lands, Parcel of the Queen's Majesty's Jointure, which have been purchased by several Persons, whose Estates are liable to Forfeiture.

The Names of which Honours, Manors, and Lands, and of the Persons who purchased the same, as aforesaid, were read, and are as followeth; viz.

Whereupon the Committee ordered as followeth; viz.

That it be reported to the House, as the Opinion of the Committee, That the Queen's Majesty ought to be forthwith restored to the Possession of the several Houses, Manors, and Lands aforesaid, mentioned to be Parcels of her Majesty's Jointure, and to have been purchased by Persons, whose Estates are liable to Forfeiture; that her Majesty be likewise restored to the Possession of Somerset House and Greenewich, which are unsold.

That what Monies for Rent, or any other Payment, due out of the aforesaid Lands, now remain in the Hands of the Tenant, or of any other Person, that hath received such Monies to the Purchaser's Use, and not paid it over to the Purchaser, shall pay it unto such Person, as shall be appointed to receive it for her Majesty's Use.

In which several Votes, the House did, upon the Question, agree with the said Committee; and, thereupon,

Resolved, That the Queen's Majesty be forthwith restored to the Possession of the several Houses, Manors, and Lands, after-mentioned, being Parcels of her Majesty's Jointure, and purchased by Persons, whose Estates are liable to Forfeiture;

That is to say,

Manor of Ampthill, Manor of Millbrooke, purchased by Colonel John Okey.

Manor of Crowland, Part of the Manor of Spalding, purchased by Valentine Walton, Adryan Scroope.

Five Manors of Somersham, with the Parks and Chase, purchased by Valent. Walton.

Nonesuch House and Park, with the Materials, purchased by Major General Lambert.

Manor of Richmond, with the House and Materials there, purchased by Sir Greg. Norton.

Nonesuch Great Park, and Materials there, purchased by Colonel Tho. Pride.

Manor of West Walton, Manor of Terrington, purchased by Edward Whalley.

Manor of Oldcourt, purchased by Robt. Titchborne.

Parcel of the Manor of Westham, purchased by Humph. Edwards.

Honour and Manor of Eye, purchased by Edward Dendy.

Egham, purchased by Captain John Blackwell.

Resolved, That the Queen's Majesty be likewise restored to the Possession of Somerset House, and Greenewich, which are unsold.

Resolved, That what Monies for Rent, or any other Payment, due out of the aforesaid Lands, do now remain in the Hands of the Tenant, or of any other Person, that hath received such Monies to the Purchaser's Use, being not paid over to the Purchaser, the Tenant, or such other Person, shall pay it unto such Person, as shall be appointed to receive it for her Majesty's Use:

Wards and Liveries.

On Report made by Mr. Pierrepont, from the Grand Committee, upon the Act for the Court of Wards;

Ordered, That the Grand Committee of the whole House, who are to consider of the Bill touching the Court of Wards, do sit on Monday next, at Three of the Clock in the Afternoon; and they have Power to send for Persons, Papers, Books, Records, and Witnesses; and the Members of this House are then to attend.

Judicial Proceedings.

Ordered, That the Amendments to the Bill for confirming of Judicial Proceedings be reported, and taken into Consideration, the first Business on Monday Morning next.

Purchasers of publick Lands.

Sir Heneage Finch reports from the Committee for Bills, a Bill for Satisfaction of Purchasers of the Lands of the late King, and other publick Lands; which was read the First time.

Ordered, That the said Bill be read the Second time, on Wednesday next.

Ministers Livings.

Ordered, That the Committee, to whom the Bill touching Ministers Livings is referred, do meet this Afternoon, and so de die in diem; and that they report the same with all Speed.

Poll Bill.

Ordered, That this House be resolved into a Grand Committee, on Monday Morning next, for Consideration of the Bill for Poll Money.
