Malmesbury Writ.
ORDERED, That Mr. Speaker do issue his Warrant to the Clerk of the Crown, to make out a Writ,
for Election of a Burgess to serve for the Town of
Malmesbury in the County of Wilts, in the Place of Mr.
Lawrence Washington, lately dead.
Committee added.
Ordered, That Colonel Robinson be added to the
Committee of Privileges.
Relief of Loyalists.
A Bill for Relief of such maimed Officers and Soldiers,
and others, who are in Want, that have faithfully served
his Majesty, and his Father, of blessed Memory, in the
Wars, was this Day read the First time.
Resolved, That this Bill be read the Second time, on
Monday next.
Dudston and King's Barton Hundreds.
Ordered, That the ingrossed Bill for dividing the Two
Hundreds of Dudston and King's Barton from the County
of the City of Gloucester, and annexing of it to the
County of Glocester, be read To-morrow Morning, the
first Bill.
Privilege.
Ordered, That John Tisser, Michaell Mohun, be sent
for, in Custody of the Serjeant at Arms, to answer their
Breach of Privilege, in causing Sir Henry Herbert, a
Member of this House, to be served with Process of
Subpæna, out of the High Court of Chancery.
Powell's Estate.
The House resumed the further Hearing of the Cause
upon the ingrossed Bill, sent from the Lords, to make
void certain Fines unduly obtained to be levied by Sir
Edward Powell, and his Lady; which, by Order of the
Twentieth of this Month, was appointed for this Day.
And the several Parties concerned, and their Counsel,
and Witnesses, being called in to the Bar of this House;
after Examination of all Witnesses, which either Party
could produce; and full Hearing of the Evidence, and
Counsel, on all Parts;
Resolved, upon the Question, That the Bill, sent from the Lords, to make void Fines unduly obtained to be
levied by Sir Edward Powell, and his Lady, be read the
Third time, on Tuesday next.
