A Bill to enable George Lord Bishop of Winchester to
lease out the Tenements now built upon the Site of his
Mansion House, in the Parish of St. Saviour's in Southwarke, in the County of Surry; and the Two Parks, and
other Demesnes, at Bishops Waltham; and other Lands
in the County of Southampton; was read the Second time.

Poor Relief.
Sir Thomas Meeres reports from the Committee
which was appointed to inspect the Act for the Relief of
the Poor of this Kingdom, That the Committee had
perused the Act; and, finding the same defective in some
Particulars, had agreed an additional Bill for explaining
and supplying the Act for Relief of the Poor: Which
he delivered in at the Clerk's Table.
Ordered, That the said Bill for explaining and supplying the Act for the Relief of the Poor of this Kingdom,
be read on Monday Morning next.
Advancement of Trade.
Sir George Downing reports from the Committee to
which it was referred to prepare and bring in a Clause
upon the Votes of the House passed, on Wednesday last,
upon Debate of the Amendment to the Fourteenth Line
of the Seventh Folio of the Bill for Advance of Trade;
the one, for limiting the Time for Liberty of importing
Cattle of the Breed of Ireland to the First of July; and
the other, for limiting the Time for Liberty of importing
Cattle of the Breed of Scotland to the Twenty-fourth
of August; That the Committee had accordingly prepared a Clause: Which he read, with the Coherence,
in his Place; and after, delivered the same in at the
Clerk's Table: Which, being twice read, was, upon the
Question, agreed to.
The House then proceeded to read the rest of the
Amendments brought in to the Bill for the Advance of
Trade.
And the Amendment to the Seventh Line of the Ninth
Folio was read the Second time; and, on the Question,
agreed to.
The Amendments to the Fifteenth Line of the Seventh
Folio was read the Second time; and was as followeth;

Some Debate arising upon this Amendment;
Resolved, &c. That it be re-committed to the former
Committee, upon the present Debates of the House,
touching the Manner of . . . . People, and Conviction of
Offenders; and for making the Bill temporary, as to the
Clause in Debate concerning Cattle and Sheep: And the
Committee are also impowered to bring in a Clause for
Supply of Foreign Plantations with Horses and Coals:
And the Committee have hereby Leave given them, to
consider of an Imposition to be laid on Foreign Fish, or
of a Prohibition against buying such Fish; and to bring
in a Clause in this Bill, if they have Time; or else to
prepare a new Bill, as they shall find necessary, for the
Purpose before mentioned: And the said Committee
are to consider of the Time of the Year after which the
Imposition shall be laid upon Sheep; and to consider of
the Time when this Act shall begin to take place, as to
the Imposition both upon great Cattle and Sheep.
Selling live Cattle.
A Bill for preventing the Selling of live fat Cattle by
Butchers, was read the First time.
Ordered, That this Bill be read the Second time on
Monday next.
Militia.
The House did then resolve itself into a Committee of
the whole House, to proceed upon the additional Bill for
the better ordering the Forces in the several Counties of
this Kingdom.

Mr. Milward reports from the Committee, That the
Committee had made some further Progress in the said
Bill; and desired, that the House would again resolve
itself into a Committee of the whole House, on Wednesday next, at Ten of the Clock, to resume the Debate
upon the said Bill.
Resolved, &c. That the House will, on Wednesday
Morning at Ten of the Clock, resolve itself into a Committee of the whole House, to resume the Debate upon
the said Bill.
Privilege.
The House being informed, That the Persons who
were ordered to be taken into Custody, for making a
forcibly Entry into the House of Sir Wm. Smith, a
Member of this House, in Breach of the Privilege of this
House, did keep the Door of the said House locked up
against the Deputy of the Serjeant at Arms attending
this House, that he could not execute the Order of this
House upon the said Parties.
Ordered, That the Debate thereof be adjourned till
