Prayers.
Distresses for Rents.
MR. William Mountague reports from the Committee
to which the Bill, sent from the Lords, for the
more speedy Recovery of Rents upon Avowries and Distresses, was re-committed, some further Amendments
agreed by the Committee to be made, and Provisoes to
be added, to the Bill: Which Amendments and Provisoes
were twice read; and, with One Alteration only, agreed,
on the Question, and made thereto at the Table, were,
upon the Question, severally agreed to.
Resolved, &c. That the Provisoes, agreed to, be
ingrossed.
Another Proviso was tendered to be made Part of the
Bill; and twice read.
The Question being put, That the Proviso be ingrossed;
It passed in the Negative.
Mitchell Writ.
Ordered, That Mr. Speaker do issue out his Warrant
to the Clerk of the Crown, to make out a Writ, for electing a new Burgess to serve for the Borough of Mitchell in
Cornewall, in the stead of Sir Edward Moseley, deceased.
Attainder of Dolman, &c.
Ordered, That these Members following be added to
the Committee to which the Bill for attainting Thomas
Dolman, and others, of High Treason, was committed;
viz. Sir Tho. Allen, Mr. Ford, Mr. George, Dr. Burwell,
Sir Jo. Knight, Sir Allen Apsley, Sir Sol. Swale, Mr.
Street, Mr. Dowdeswell, Sir Edw. Hungerford, Sir Rob.
Holt, Mr. Bulteele, Sir Winst. Churchill, Mr. Glascock,
Mr. Wren, Mr. Musgrave, Sir Jo. Bennet, Sir Rich.
Powle: And the Committee is revived: And to meet
this Afternoon, at Two of the Clock, in the Place,
formerly appointed.
Relief of Seamen.
Ordered, That his Majesty be humbly desired, That he
would be pleased to issue out a new Commission to inquire
after, and take a speedy Account of, the Chest Money
allotted for Relief of sick and maimed Seamen; and the
Arrears thereof, or of any Lands that have been purchased or given for that charitable Use. And Sir William Coventry, Sir Francis Clarke, and Mr. Pryn, are
to attend his Majesty with this Address.
Distresses for Rents.
The Bill, sent from the Lords, for the more speedy
and effectual Proceeding upon Avowries and Distresses
for Rents; with the Amendments and Proviso agreed to;
were read the Third time.
Resolved, &c. That the Bill, with the Amendments,
and Proviso agreed to, do pass: And that the Title be
agreed to.
Bills sent to Lords.
And Sir Robert Holt is to carry up such Bills as are
passed, to the Lords: And to put the Lords in mind of
the Bill to prevent the Importation of foreign Cattle and
Fish.
And then the House adjourned till Monday
