A BILL against Atheism, Profaneness, and Swearing, was read.

Ordered, That this Bill be read the Second time on Friday next.

Canary Patent.

A Petition of George Smith Merchant was read.

Ordered, That this Petition be referred to the Committee appointed to consider the Charter of the Canary Company, to examine the Matter of the Petition; and report the Matter of Fact, and their Opinions, to the House: And that these Members following be added to the Committee; Sir Willfrid Lawson, Sir Thomas Strickland, Sir John Frederick, Sir Robert Carre, Mr. Street, Mr. Dawson, Sir Phill. Musgrave, Sir Richard Everard, Sir John Dawney, Sir Wm. Doyley, Sir Richard Outley, Sir Thom. Allen, Sir Robert Atkins, Sir Wm. Gawdy, and all the Members that serve for the City of London; and those that serve for the Out Ports: And all that come are to have Voices.

Another Petition of divers Traders in Woolen Manufactures of Welch Cottons, and Plains Shrewsbury, was read.

A Petition of many poor Weavers, Tockers, and Spinners, of the County of Gloucester, was read.

Ordered, That this Petition be referred to the Committee appointed to consider of the Improvements of our native Manufactures; to examine the Matter of the Petition; and report it, with their Opinions therein, to the House: And that they do also inspect the Laws in Force, touching Parish Stocks; and examine the Defects therein, or in putting the same in Execution; and to consider of Means to improve the Stock for setting the Poor on Work in the several Parishes; as also of the further Suspension of the Charter of the Merchant Adventurers, for some time; and of Convoys for a Guard of such Ships as shall be employed in Trade; and report their Opinions to the House: And that these Members following be added to the Committee; viz. Duelling.

Resolved, &c. That a Committee be appointed to prepare and bring in a Bill for Prevention of Duelling: And that it be referred to Mr. Secretary Morice, Mr. Coleman, Sir Robert Atkins, Mr. Pryn, Sir Charles Harbord, Serjeant Seys, Sir Job Charlton, Serjeant Mainard, Sir Solom. Swale, Mr. Hen. Coventry, or any Three of them: And they are to meet at Two of the Clock this Afternoon, in the Speaker's Chamber: And to send for Persons, Papers, and Records: And to consider the Penalties on such as shall give Provocations, and for Reparations to such as shall be injured or provoked.

Fire of London.

Ordered, That Sir John Pelham, Sir Geo. Hungerford, Sir Wm. Lewis, Sir Gilbert Gerrard, Mr. Biscawen, Sir Richard Everard, Sir Thom. Wendy, Mr. Millward, Sir John Brampston, Mr. Hungerford, and all the Members that serve for the City of London, be added to the Committee appointed to consider of the Causes of the late Fire.

Loyal Officers.
