KOSWAY Spiller, the Wife of John Spiller Merchant, born in Gorgia in Greece, did this Day take the Oath of Allegiance and Supremacy, in order to her Naturalization.

Committees.

Ordered, That the Committees, which were discontinued, be revived; and do sit in the Places formerly appointed.

Miscarriages of the War.

Ordered, That these Members following be added to the Committee for inquiring into the Miscarriages of the late War; viz. Sir Walter Younge, Sir John Trott, Sir Edward Masters, Mr. Cheyney, Mr. Eliott, Sir Richard Fancklin, Sir John Norton, Mr. Hendley, Mr. William Warbord.

Encouraging Navigation.

Ordered, That these Members following be added to Dr. Chamberlaine's Committee; viz. Sir John Holland, Mr. Vaughan, Sir Edward Harlow, Mr. Fregonnell, Sir Thomas Allen, Sir Charles Harbord, Sir * Herbort, Mr. Scawen, Sir John Fredricke, Sir Thomas Meeres, Sir John Maynard.

Hilton's Charities.

A Bill for settling the charitable Uses of Henry Hilton, deceased, was read the Second time.

Resolved, &c. That the Bill be committed to Dr. Burwell, Sir Soloman Swale, Sir Thomas Tompkins, Sir Phillipp Musgrave, Sir Charles Wheeler, Sir John Heath, Sir Clifford Clifton, Mr. Morrice, Sir Lanc. Lake, Mr. Pryn, Col. Williams, Sir Gilbert Talbott, Col. Phillipps, Col. Kirby, Lord Richardson, Mr. Otway, Sir Henry Capell, Sir Henry Peckham, Sir William Lowther, Sir Thomas Allen, Mr. Houley, Sir Hugh Windham, Mr. Phaling, Sir John Mounson, Mr. Pepis, Sir Edward Masters, Sir Richard Oateley, Mr. Chetwin, Mr. Cofferer, Mr. Dowdswell, Mr. Wynn, Mr. Crouch, Mr. Christo. Musgrave, Sir Edm. A Petition on the Behalf of the several Parishes of St. Clements Danes of Middlesex, and of Richmond, and Walton upon Thames, in Surry, and Stoning, in Sussex, was read.

Ordered, That this Petition be referred to the same Committee, to which the Bill concerning Baron Hilton was committed; to take the Matter of the Petition into Consideration; and report it, with their Opinions therein, to the House.

Great Guisby Election.

Serjeant Charleton reports from the Committee of Privileges and Elections, in the Case of Election for Great Guisby, in the County of Lincolne, between Sir Phillipp Tirwhite, and Fretzville Hollis, that the Committee, upon full Examination of the Matter, had agreed in Three Resolves; viz.

That the Election was not void:

That Sir Phillipp Tirwhitt was not duly elected:

That Sir Fretzville Hollis was duly elected, and ought to sit.

Resolved, &c. That this House doth agree with the Committee, that Sir Fretzville Hollis was duly elected, and ought to sit.

And the Clerk of the Crown being called in, the Return was amended; and the name of Sir Phillipp Tirwhitt razed out, and the Name of Fretzville Hollis inserted.

The House then went upon the further Examination of the Matter concerning the French Merchants.

Mr. Bennett was called in; and gave Information.

Mr. Cresset was called in; and gave Information.

Mr. Hartlibb was called in; and again examined.

Mr. Bendish was called in; and gave Evidence.

The other French Merchants was called in; Mr. Teriano, and others, gave Information.--

A Message from the Lords, by Sir William Child and Sir Justinian Lewin;

Trials of Peers, &c.

Mr. Speaker, The Lords have sent you down a Bill intituled, An Act for the better regulating of the Trial of the Peers of England; to which they desire the Concurrence of this House: And have consented to Two other Bills; viz. The Bill concerning the Lord Townsend; and the Bill for assigning Exchequer Orders.--

Privilege- A Member charged with Corruption.

Ordered, That Mr. St. Hill do attend on Monday next; and bring in the Book, wherein the Account of the Monies raised by the French Merchants is kept; and also an Account to whom Wines or Monies have been delivered.

The Answer of the Royal Company to the Petition of the Merchants trading to Guiney, and the Paper thereto annexed, as also the Patent, were this Day brought in; and delivered to the Clerk of the House.

Ordered, That the Clerk do cause Copies of the said Answer to be made out of the said Merchants; and do let them have a Sight of the Patent.

After the Evidence touching the 500£. given to Mr. John Ashburnham by the French Merchants was concluded and the Matter debated;

A Member expelled.

Ordered, That Mr. John Ashburnham, in receiving 500£. from the French Merchants, hath committed an Offence to the Dishonour of this House, and contrary to his Duty, as a Member thereof.

Resolved, &c. That Mr. John Ashburnham be discharged from his Service in this House; and a Warrant issue for a new Election in his Place,

The House having Notice, by Mr. Cofferer, that Mr. John Ashburnham was gone home to his House very ill of the Gout, the House thought fit to forbear to send for Mr. Ashburnham to receive their Judgment at the Bar.

Ordered, That the Clerk do give Mr. John Ashburnham Notice of the Resolves of this House concerning him.

And then the House adjourned till To-morrow Morning, Eight of the Clock.
