Importing Irish Cattle.
AN additional Bill against importing of Irish Cattle,
was read the First time.
Ordered, That this Bill be read the Second Time on
Monday next.
Irish Land Adventurers.
A Petition of the Body of the Adventurers for Lands
in Ireland, was read.
Conference desired with Lords.
Ordered, That Mr. Cheney do go up to the Lords; and
desire a Conference upon some Votes passed by this
House, touching Freedom of Speech in Parliament.
Electing Members for Durham.
Ordered, That the Bill for Election of Members to serve
in Parliament for the County Palatine of Durham, be
read To-morrow Morning.
Hearth Money Tax.
The House then proceeded in the Report concerning
Hearth Money: And all the rest of the Resolves, from
the Eleventh, with the Opinion of the Committee, being
read the Second time, were, upon the Question, severally
agreed to by the House, to be Grievances.
Resolved, &c. That a Bill be brought in, for redressing
the Grievances and Abuses in the Collection of Hearth
Money; and for the better ascertaining the said Duty
upon the several Heads: And the Opinions of the Committee, in their Report, being all agreed to by the House;
it is referred to the same Committee, to prepare and bring
in a Bill accordingly.
Earl of Clare's Estate.
A Message from the Lords, by Mr. Richard Proctor
and Dr. Crofts;
Mr. Speaker, The Lords have sent you down a Bill
intituled, An Act for settling Part of the Possession of the
late Earl of Clare, deceased; and enabling Gilbert Earl
of Clare, Son and Heir, to dispose of some other Part
thereof, for Payment of Debts and Portions: To which
they desire the Concurrence of this House.
And further to let you know, that the Lords have
agreed to the Vote of this House, for the burning the
Paper from the Earl of Clarendon by the Hands of the
Hangman; and have given Order for the burning of the
same accordingly, on Thursday next, at Gresham College,
at Exchange-time.
Answer to Message for Conference.
M. Cheny reports, that he had delivered the Message
to the Lords for desiring a Conference: And they acquainted him, that no Matter being expressed, they would
send Answer by Messenger of their own.
