Hearthmoney Collectors.

UPON Information, and Complaint made against one Joseph Hallam, an Officer for collecting the Duty of Hearth-money, of an Abuse and Misdemeanour, in vexing and prosecuting one Hyppolet' Hudson, Constable of Market Deeping in the County of Lincolne, with an Information in the Crown Office, though the said Hudson were in no Default;

Ordered, That this Matter be referred to the Committee of Grievances, to examine, and certify, with their Opinions therein, to the House.

Privilege- Petition from a person in custody.

A Petition of Tho. Styles, (Servant to Anthony Gawdy Esquire) under Custody of the Serjeant at Arms, for a Breach of Privilege, was read.

Ordered, That the said Petition be referred to the Committee of Privileges and Elections, to examine the Matter of the Petition, and certify the same, with their Opinions therein, to the House: And that they do sit on Thursday next, and take it into Consideration: And the said Thomas Stiles is to have his Liberty, and to attend the Committee.

Arrears of Royal Aid.

Upon Information, that there was an Arrear of Monies assessed, by virtue of the Act for the Royal Aid, upon Offices in London and Middlesex; which could not be levied by reason of some Defect, and want of Power, in the former Act;

Ordered, That a Committee be appointed, to look into the former Act concerning the Royal Aid; and to examine the Matter of Arrears, due and unpaid, for Offices in London and Middlesex; and report it, with their Opinions, to the House; Sir Lanc. Lake, Mr. Weld, Mr. Morriece, Sir Tho. Allen, Sir Wm. Coventry, Mr. Comptroller, Col. Birch, Sir Antho. Irby, Sir Phill. Warwick, Alderman Love, Sir Phill. Musgrave, Sir Tho. Clergis, Sir Jo. Birkenhead, Sir Cha. Harbord, Sir Wm. Doyley, Mr. Mountague, Sir Jo. Bennett, Sir Jo. Duncombe, Mr. Jones, Sir Wm. Thompson, Sir Wm. Hickman, Sir Tho. Littleton, Sir Adam Browne, Sir Tho. Bludworth; or any Five of them: And they are to meet To-morrow at Two of the Clock, in the Speaker's Chamber: And to send for Persons, Papers, and Records.

Monmouth Election.

Ordered, That the Committee of Elections do proceed this Afternoon to hear the Cause between Sir Trevor Williams, and Mr. Herbert, touching the Election for the County of Monmouth, as it is appointed.

Deane Forest.

Ordered, That a Message be sent to the Lord Chief Baron, to intimate the Desires of this House, that the Trial in the Exchequer, touching Deane Forest, should go on, and be expedited, as soon as he can: And the Papers concerning the Commoners are to be delivered back by the Chairman of the Committee: And Sir Phil. Warwicke, and Col. Reames, are to acquaint the Lord Chief Baron with the Desires of this House.

Ordered, That the Report concerning Deane Forest be heard To-morrow Morning.

Transportation of Horses, &c.

Ordered, that the Committee formerly appointed, touching the Transportation of Horses, and strengthening the Kingdom against Invasion, be revived; and do sit To-morrow in the Afternoon: And they are also to inquire what Seamen, or Soldiers, be transported into foreign Parts, since the last Meeting of the House; and by whom: And the Committee are further impowered to bring in a Bill for the more free Exportation of Horses, Corn, Cattle, and Victuals: And that the Clerk of the Passage of Dover and Rye do attend the Committee, to give an Account, what Soldiers or Seamen have been transported.

Stonehouse's Petition.

Ordered, That the Matter, upon the Petition of the Lady Mary Stonehouse, be heard at the Bar of this House.

Hearthmoney Tax.

Ordered, That the Quorum of the Committee, to bring in a Bill touching Hearth Money, be Three; and do sit de die in diem.

Weld's Debt.

Ordered, &c. That the Committee for the Bill concerning Sir John Weld be revived; and do sit this Afternoon.

Highways.

Ordered, That Sir John Northcott, and Mr. Morrice, be added to the Committee concerning Highways.

And then the House adjourned till Eight a Clock To-morrow Morning.
