Prayers.

Privilege.

ORDERED, That John Gad, Cooke Clerke, and * Grey, do attend the Committee of Privileges on Thursday next, to answer the Breach of Privilege, objected against them; in entring and seizing the Salt-works near Sheernesse, in the Island of Graine, in the County of Kent, to which Sir Wm. Smith, a Member of this House, makes Claim; and out of which his Servants are dispossessed, whilst he is attending the Service of this House; and the Committee are to examine the Matter; and report it, with their Opinions, to the House.

Taylor's Estate.

Sir Humfrey Wynch reports the Bill concerning the Estate of Mr. Taylor, with some Amendments thereto, agreed by the Committee: Which were now read, and agreed; and the Bill, with the Amendments, ordered to be ingrossed.

State of Trade.

A Petition of the Clothiers in and about the City of Exeter was read.

Ordered, That this Petition be referred to the Committee of Trade; to examine the Matter of the Petition, and report it, with their Opinions therein, to the House; And for that purpose they are to sit on Friday next.

Leave of Absence.

Ordered, That Sir Clement Fisher have Leave to go into the Country for Recovery of his Heath.

Message from the King to expedite Business.

The Lord Fitzharding delivers a Message, in Writing, from his Majesty: Which was read, and is as followeth; viz.

HIS Majesty, not long since, acquainted you, That He hoped you would dispatch your Business so that you might be in your Countries by Whitsuntide: He thinks fit now to let you know, that he resolves to put a Period to this Session on Monday the Fourth Day of May next, being the Monday before Whitsunday: And again earnestly minds you to dispatch the Business of the Supply, and your other publick Concernments, by that Time.

Given at the Court at Whitehall, the Thirteenth Day of April, in the Twentieth Year of His Majesty's Reign.

Supply.

Resolved, &c. That the House do on Wednesday Morning next, proceed on the King's Supply; and from thence every other Day, till it be finished; and that no private Business be proceeded in, till that be dispatched.

Resolved, &c. That on the Days appointed for the King's Supply, the House do at their first Sitting proceed in that; and no other Business to intervene.

Lyndsey Level.

The House, according to former Order, proceeded in the Hearing of the Cause concerning Lyndsey Level; and Counsel being called in to the Bar, both on Behalf of the Lords Owners and Commoners, and of Sir Wm. Kellegrew, and Sir Hen. Heron; and several Deeds and Writings were read on both Sides.

Resolved, &c. That the further Hearing of this Cause be adjourned till Three of the Clock in the Afternoon.

And then the House adjourned till Three of the Clock, accordingly.

A BILL for the Naturalization of John Conine and others, was read the Second time.

The House then proceeded to the further Hearing of the Cause concerning Lyndsey Level.

Resolved, &c. That the further Hearing of this Cause, as to the Counsel's Summing up of Evidence, on both Sides, be on Friday next in the Afternoon.

Ordered, That Sir Wm. Pen have Notice to attend this House To-morrow Morning.

Defaulters to Call of the House.

Ordered, That the Call of Members, Defaulters, be on Friday next after the Hearing of the Cause of Lyndsey Level.

Address for wearing English Manufactures.

Sir Charles Harbord reports from the Committee appointed to prepare an Address to his Majesty to encourage the Wearing and Use of our Home Commodities, That the House desire his Majesty, that by his own Example, and his Queen's, and the Duke's and Duchess's, and such other Ways, as in his Wisdom shall seem most meet and effectual, he will be pleased forthwith to encourage the Wearing of his own English Manufactures; and to discourage the Wearing of all foreign Manufactures; and to discountenance and disgrace all such as shall not conform thereunto, for the Good of his Majesty and People; and to desire the Concurrence of the Lords herein: And that both Houses may wait on his Majesty in a Body with this Vote: And that the House begin themselves to shew a good Example herein to the Nation: And that the Lords be also desired to shew the like Example.

Resolved, &c. That this House doth humbly desire his Majesty, that he will be pleased by his own Example, and his Queen's, and the Duke's and Duchess's, and such other Ways, as in his Wisdom shall seem most meet and effectual, forthwith to encourage the Wearing of his own English Manufactures; and to discourage the Wearing of all foreign Manufactures; and to discountenance and disgrace all such as shall not conform thereunto; to the Good of his Majesty and his People.

Resolved, &c. That the Lords Concurrence be desired to this Vote: And that both Houses in a Body wait on his Majesty with this Vote.

Resolved, &c. That the Lords be desired to begin themselves to shew a good Example herein to the Nation: And that Sir Charles Harbord do carry up these Votes to the Lords for their Concurrence.

Resolved, &c. That this House will begin themselves to shew a good Example herein in the Nation.
