Prayers.

Lindsey Level.

ORDERED, That the First Tuesday of the Meeting of the House, after this Adjournment and Recess, be appointed to proceed in the further Hearing of the Cause concerning Lindsey Level; and no other Business to intervene.

Exporting Wool.

Sir Charles Harbord reports from the Committee appointed by Order of the 17 of February, to take Consideration of the Petition of Stephen Stringer and other Clothiers, touching the Exportation of Wool; and the Case of Wm. Falcon and Matthew Marsh, in Custody of the Serjeant at Arms, for transporting of Wool; the Resolves of the Committee: . . . are as followeth; viz.

That William Falcon and Matthew Marsh, now in Custody of the Serjeant at Arms, for transporting of Wools to Newport in Flanders, and other Places, have been guilty of that Offence, as appears by sundry Examinations taken and certified by the Mayor of Dover, and others; and in Part by their own Confession.

That the said Offenders be sent to the Lord Chief Justice of the King's Bench; to be proceeded against according to the Law in that Behalf; and that the said Examinations be delivered over to his Lordship for that Purpose.

But he declared further to the House, that, as to Matthew Marsh, though he were found guilty, yet the Offence objected against him was a Year and half since; and without the Reach of the Law; and that he was a poor Husbandman, and drawn in to give his Help upon the Promise of Ten Shillings, which he never had: But that Falcon was the principal Party criminal and concerned.

Ordered, That Matthew Marsh be discharged from his Commitment to the Serjeant at Arms, paying moderate Fees, as Mr. Speaker shall direct.

Ordered, That Wm. Falcon, found guilty of the Offence in transporting Wool, be transmitted to the Lord Chief Justice of the King's Bench, to be proceeded against according to the Law in that Behalf; and that the Examinations be delivered over to his Lordship for that Purpose; and that the said Falcon, paying his Fees, be discharged from the Custody of the Serjeant at Arms.

Conine's, &c. Nat.

An ingrossed Bill for Naturalization of John Conine and others, was read.

Resolved, &c. That the Bill do pass: And that the Title be, An Act for Naturalizing of John Conine and others : And Sir John Brampston is to carry up the Bill to the Lords.

Oaths to be taken naturalized Persons.

Ordered, That when any Persons come to be naturalized hereafter, they do first take the Oaths of Allegiance and Supremacy in the House, after the Speaker takes the Chair, according to ancient Form.

Whorwood's Estate.

Ordered, That the Business concerning Mr. Whorwood be taken into Consideration on Monday Morning.

Sir Wm. Penn's Impeachment.

Ordered, That the Answer of Sir Wm. Penn, and the Matters of Impeachment against him and others, do succeed, to be taken into Consideration, next after the Bill for the King's Supply is dispatched.

The House adjourned till Three of the Clock in the Afternoon.

Supply Bill; Wine Duties, &c.

THE House met: And the ingrossed Bill for raising of Three hundred and Ten thousand Pounds, by an Imposition upon Wines and other Liquors was read.

Resolved, &c. That the Blank in the Bill, for the Title, be filled up with these Words; viz. An Act for raising of Three hundred and Ten thousand Pounds, by an Imposition on Wines and other Liquors.

And some other Amendments being agreed and made to the said Bill, at the Clerk's Table;

Resolved, &c. That the said Bill do pass: And that the Title be, An Act for raising of Three hundred and Ten thousand Pounds, by an Imposition on Wines and other Liquors: And Col. Birch is to carry up the Bill to the Lords.

Privilege.

The House being informed, that Sir John Stowell, by his Servants, had seized upon some Tin belonging to Mr. Ford, a Member of this House; and entered upon his Tin-work during his Attendance in Parliament.

Resolved, &c. That the said Sir John Stowell be taken into Custody of the Serjeant at Arms attending this House, or his Deputy; for Breach of the Privilege of this House, in taking the said Tin-work belonging to Mr. Ford a Member of this House.

And then the House adjourned till Monday Morning, Eight of the Clock.
