Prayers.

Christopher, Gunman did this take the Oaths of Allegiance and Supremacy before the Speaker, at the Clerk's Table, in order to his Naturalization.

Banks' Estate.

A Bill on the Behalf of Sir Ralph Banks, to have Satisfaction for a just Debt secured by a Mortgage; or to hold the Lands discharged of Redemption; was read the First time.

Resolved, &c. That this Bill be read the Second time on this Day Sevennight.

Excise.

A Petition of the Farmers of his Majesty's Revenue of Excise on imported Liquors, was read.

Resolved, &c. That a Committee be appointed to summon the Farmers of Excise, and Merchants trading in Brandy, before them; and to peruse the Petition and Act for Excise; and examine and state the Matter of Fact to the House; with their Opinions, whether it be necessary to have a new Bill: And that it be referred to Sir George Reeves, Col. Birch, Sir John Duncombe, Sir Wm. Lewis, Mr. Seymour, Mr. Street, Mr. King, Mr. Crouch, Sir Walter Young, Sir John Birkenhead, Sir Thom. Clerges, Sir Thom. Lee, Sir Jo. Knight, Col. Sandys, Mr. Buscawen, Sir Charles Harbord, Sir Thom. Meres, Sir Solom. Swale, Sir Jo. Ernley, Col. Reames, Lord Allington, Mr. Solicitor General, Mr. Marvin, Sir Wm. Thompson, Mr. Fowell, Sir Jo. Northcote, Col. Robinson, Sir Gilbert Gerrard, Sir Phill. Musgrave, Mr. Love, Mr. Jones, Sir Winston Churchill, Sir Wm. Terringham, Sir Jo. Fitz James, Sir Jo. Heath, Sir John Mainard, Sir Phill. Warwick, Sir Richard Ford, Mr. Jolly, Sir Job Charlton, Mr. Seymour, Mr. Pepis, Sir Thom. Gower, Col. Whitley, Sir Jo. Coryton, Col. Phillips, Mr. Bridgman: And his Majesty's Council to attend: And all to come to have Voices: And to meet on Wednesday next at Two of the Clock in the Afternoon, in the Inner Court of Wards: And to send for Persons, Papers, and Records.

Hearth-money Tax.

Ordered, That the Bill for the better regulating and collecting the Duty arising by Hearth-money, be read the Second time on Wednesday Morning next.

Publick Accounts.

The House then resumed the Consideration of the Report of the Commissioners of Accounts:

And the Report was read.

The Commissioners being at the Door, were called in: And Mr. Speaker acquainted them, that it was the Desire of the House, that they would transmit such Papers they mentioned to have received, by way of Answer, from the respective Accountants; as also the State of an Account of what Monies was received for the Maintenance of the War, and what disbursed; with a Balance thereupon.

After which the Lord Brereton, in the Name of the rest, desired to receive the Commands of the House in Writing; which should be by them observed. Whereupon it was

Ordered, That the Commissioners for Accounts be desired to transmit to this House, attested Copies of such Papers they mention to have received, by Way of Answer, from several Accomptants: And further, that they bring in the State of an Account of what Monies was received for the Maintenance of the War, and what disbursed for the same, with the Balance thereupon.

And then the House adjourned till Wednesday Morning next, at Eight of the Clock.
