Prayers.

Excise.

A PETITION of the Merchants trading in Brandy, was read.

Resolved, &c. That this Petition be referred to the same Committee to which the Petition of the Farmers of his Majesty's Revenue of Excise on imported Liquors, was committed; to examine the Matter of the Petition; and report it, with their Opinions therein, to the House: And these Members following be added to the Committee; viz. Sir Robert Carr, Sir Lanc. Lake, Mr. Elliott, Sir Wm. Lewis, Serj. Mainard, Sir Richard Oatley, Sir Jo. Talbott, Mr. Pepis, Sir Jo. Moreton, Sir Thom. Tomkins, Mr. Jay, Mr. Chetwin, Sir Jo. Fitz James, Sir Charles Harbord, Mr. Garraway, Mr. Morice, Sir Jo. Knight, Sir Phill. Musgrave, Sir Jo. Norton, Mr. Rigby. And the Committee are hereby impowered to examine into Abuses and Misdemeanors complained of, to be committed by the Farmers and Officers of Excise in the Country; and report the Matter, with their Opinions therein, to the House.

Privilege.

Information being given, that one John Buxton, a menial Servant of the Lord Ancram, was taken and detained Prisoner in Execution at the Suit of * * contrary to the Privilege of Parliament;

Ordered, That Mr. Speaker do issue out his Warrant for Discharge of the said John Buxton: And if in case it be not obeyed, that Report thereof be made to the House.

Magdalen College, Cambridge.

Ordered, These Members following be added to the Committee, to which the Petition of the Master and Fellows of St. Mary Magdalen's College, in Cambridge, was committed; viz. Sir Charles Harbord, Mr. Marvell, Mr. Coleman, Sir Robert Carr, Mr. Crouch, Mr. Jolliffe, Sir Humfry Wynch, Sir Norton Knatchbold, Sir Fran. Goodwick, Mr. Noell, Mr. Secretary Trevor.

Repairing Highways.

Ordered, That the Bill for repairing and amending Highways be read on Saturday next.

Dean of St. Paul's House.

Mr. Crouch reports from the Committee, to which the Bill for enabling the Dean of St. Paule's to build a Mansion House for him and his Successors, some Amendments to be made to the Bill: Which he read, with the Coherence, in his Place; and after delivered the same in at the Clerk's Table: Which being twice read, were, upon the Question, agreed to.

Resolved, &c. That the Bill, with the Amendments agreed to, be ingrossed.

Supply.

The House, according to former Order, resolved into a Committee of the whole House, in order to the Consideration of the Motion for the King's Supply.

Mr. Speaker left the Chair.
Sir Robert Atkins took the Chair of the Committee.
Mr. Speaker resumed the Chair.

Sir Robert Atkins reports the humble Opinion of the Committee, that the House resolve into a Committee of the whole House on this Day Sevennight, to proceed further in the Consideration of the Motion for the King's Supply.

Resolved, &c. That this House doth agree with the Committee, that the House resolve into a Committee of the whole House on this Day Sevennight, to proceed further in the Consideration of the Motion for the King's Supply.

Committees.

Ordered, That all Committees that be discontinued be revived, and do sit this Afternoon, in the Places formerly appointed.

Committee of Privileges.

Ordered, That these Persons following be added to the Committee of Privileges and Elections; Mr. Williamson, Sir Thomas Dolman, Mr. Churchill, Major General Egerton, Sir Thom. Bloudworth, Mr. Whorwood, Sir Jo. Fitz James, Sir Robert Carr, Col. Windham, Sir Trevor Williams, Mr. Jo. Harvey, Col. Williams.

And then the House adjourned till To-morrow Morning, Eight of the Clock.
