Yarmouth Pier.

AMENDMENTS sent from the Lords, to the Bill for Repair of Yarmouth Pier, were read twice; and, upon the Question, agreed.

The Proviso, sent from the Lords, on the Behalf of the City of Norwich, was twice read.

The Question being put, That the Proviso be read a Third time;

The House divided.

The Yeas went out.

And so it passed in the Negative.

Ordered, That a Conference be had with the Lords, upon the Proviso not agreed.

Mr. Seymour, Sir Robert Howard, Sir Anthony Irby, Sir Thomas Clergis, Sir Wm. Coventry, Mr. Corey, Sir Thomas. Lee, Colonel Birch, Mr. King, and Sir John Birkenhead, to withdraw and prepare Reasons for the Conference.

Conference on Highways Bill.

Sir Thomas Clergis reports from the Conference had with the Lords, the Reasons by them given upon the Amendments to the Bill for repairing Highways, for their not agreeing to the Word "Five," but to have the Word "Three" instead of it, as to the Number of Horses.

The Question being put, To adhere to the Number "Five;"

It was resolved in the Affirmative.

Conference on Conventicle Bill.

A Message from the Lords, by Sir John Coell and Mr. Halsey;

Mr. Speaker, The Lords have sent us to desire a present Conference with this House, in the Painted Chamber, upon the Amendments to the Bill against Conventicles.

The Messengers being called in, Mr. Speaker acquaints them, that the House had agreed to a present Conference.

Ordered, That the Managers formerly appointed, do attend this Conference.

Sir Thomas Meeres reports from the Conference had with the Lords, Wherein the Lords do agree, and wherein they disagree, with the Amendments, sent from this House, to the Bill against Conventicles; and the Alterations and Amendments made by the Lords: Which he opened, and read with the Coherence; and declared the Reasons given by the Lords for the same: And the House agreed with the Lords, except in Two Particulars.

Resolved, &c. That this House is not satisfied with the Lords Reasons, in not agreeing with this House, in altering their Amendment to the 1st Line in the 6th Press, relating to the Search of their Houses.

Resolved, &c. That this House is not satisfied with the Lords Reasons for retaining the First Proviso of the Provisoes, marked (B), relating to attaching the Lords Persons:

That a free Conference be desired with the Lords, upon the Subject Matter of the last Conference.

Fee-farm Rents.

A Message from the Lords, by Mr. Justice Moreton and Mr. Justice Wilde;

Mr. Speaker, The Lords have sent you down a Bill, intituled, An Act for advancing the Sale of Fee-farm Rents, and other Rents; to which they desire the Concurrence of this House.

Ordered, That this Bill be read in the Afternoon.

Duty on Brandy.

Resolved, &c. That the Report of the Bill against Brandy be heard in the Afternoon:

Prettyman's Estate.

That the Committee for Sale of Sir John Prettyman's Estate have Leave to sit this Afternoon.

Privilege.- Petition from a Person in custody.

A Petition of Henry Lewis, sent for in Custody of the Serjeant at Arms, for a Breach of Privilege, being tendered and considered;

Ordered, That the said Henry Lewis be discharged of his Commitment to the Serjeant at Arms, paying his Fees.

And then the House adjourned till Three of the Clock (fn. 1), To-morrow Morning.

Exporting Beer, &c.

ORDERED, That the Committee to whom the Bill concerning the Exportation of Beer and Coal is committed, have Leave to sit To-morrow Morning, before the Sitting of the House: And that all the Members that serve for the Counties of York and Cornewall, and City of London, be added to the said Committee.

Committees.

Ordered, That all Committees, discontinued, be revived; and do sit To-morrow in the Afternoon, at Two of the Clock, in the Places formerly appointed.

Yarmouth Pier.

Sir Wm. Coventry reports the Reasons to be insisted upon at a Conference with the Lords, for disagreeing with their Lordships Proviso, to be added to the Bill for the Repair of the Pier of Great Yarmouth.

Ordered, That Sir William Coventry desire a Conference with the Lords, upon their Amendments, and the said Proviso.

Fee-farm Rents.

The Bill, sent down from the Lords, intituled, An Act for advancing the Sale of his Majesty's Fee-farm Rents, and other Rents, was read the First time.

Resolved, &c. That the said Bill be read a Second time To-morrow Morning.

Shadwell Church.

A Message from the Lords, by Sir Mondeford Brampston and Mr. Halsey;

Mr. Speaker, The Lords have sent you down the Bill, intituled, An Act for Endowment of a Church at Shadwell, now in the Parish of Stepney, in Middlesex, and making it parochial, distinct from Stepney; with an Addition of a Proviso; to which they desire the Concurrence of this House.

Committees added.

Ordered, That Mr. Prideaux, Mr. Greenvile, Colonel Kirtby, and Mr. Glascock, be added to the Committee to whom the Petition of Mrs. Humes is committed: And they have Leave to sit To-morrow Morning at Seven of the Clock.

Supply Bill; Duty on Brandy.

Sir Robert Howard reports from the Committee to whom the Bill for regulating the making of Brandy in England, and prohibiting the Importation of foreign Brandy, was committed, several Amendments, Alterations, and Additions, agreed by the Committee to be added thereunto: Which he read in his Place; and afterwards delivered in the same at the Clerk's Table: And, being twice read, were, upon the Question, severally agreed unto. Some Blanks being in the Bill;

Ordered, That the Debate of filling up the said Blanks, be adjourned till To-morrow Morning.

Conference on Conventicle Bill.

Ordered, That Mr. Cheney desire a free Conference with the Lords, upon the Subject Matter of the last Conference with the Lords, upon the Bill against Conventicles.

Mr. Cheney reports, that the Lords agree to the said free Conference; and that it be forthwith.

Ordered, That the Members that managed the last Conference do manage This: And that Mr. Vaughan be added to them.

Ordered, That the Report of the said free Conference be made To-morrow Morning.

And then the House adjourned till To-morrow Morning Eight of the Clock.
