Prayers.

Defaulters to Call of the House.

ORDERED, That Sir Cicill Bishop, Mr. Ellyott, Sir Richard Edgecombe, Sir Edw. Hungerford, Sir Phil. Harcourt, Mr. Dennis, Mr. Rous, Mr. Otway, and Mr. Chetwin, who formerly made Default upon the Call of the House, and are now present, giving their Attendance, be excused, and struck out of the List of Defaulters.

Hall's Estate.

The Amendments, sent from the Lords, to the Bill on the Behalf of Benedict Hall Esquire, were twice read; and, on the Question, agreed; and ordered to be made in the Bill; and the Bill to be returned to the Lords.

Sams' Charities.

Ordered, That the Bill for settling a charitable Use intended by John Sams, be read To-morrow Morning.

Corn and Salt Measures.

Colonel Birch reports from the Committee to which the Bill for ascertaining the Measures of Corn and Salt, was committed, some Amendments, agreed by the Committee: Which he opened in his Place; and after, delivered the same in at the Clerk's Table: Which were twice read; and, upon the Question, with some Amendments, agreed.

Resolved, &c. That the Bill, with the Amendments agreed, be ingrossed.

Ordered, That Leave be given to bring in a Proviso, for settling the Right between Landlord and Tenant, as to Rent Corn.

Fees of Clerks of Assize.

Resolved, &c. That it be referred to Sir Solomon Swale, Mr. Crouch, Sir Robert Carr, Sir John Knight, Sir Thom. Gower, Sir Nich. Steward, Sir John Moreton, Mr. Maynard, Sir John Birkenhead, Colonel Birch, Mr. Rigby, Sir Char. Harbord, Sir Phil. Mounckton, Sir Hugh Windham, Sir Gilbert Talbot, Sir Thom. Meeres, Colonel Williams, Sir Thom. Allen, Sir Anthony Irby, Sir Thom. Higgons; or any Five of them; to prepare and bring in a Bill, to regulate the Fees of the Clerks of Assizes; and to summon them to bring in the List of their Fees: And to send for Persons, Papers, and Records.

Lords reminded of a Bill.

Ordered, That Sir Robert Howard do go up to the Lords, and put them in mind of the Bill concerning Brandy.

Thirske Writ.

Ordered, That Mr. Speaker do certify the Lord Keeper of the Great Seal of England, of the Death of Mr. Walter Strickland, who lately served as a Member of this House, for the Borough of Thirske, in the County of Yorkshire; desiring him, that a Writ may issue forth, under the Great Seal, for Election of a Member to serve in this present Parliament, in his place and stead.

Stage Coaches.

A Motion being made, touching the limiting and regulating Stage Coaches;

Ordered, That the Debate of the Matter touching Stage Coaches, be taken into Consideration on Wednesday Sevennight next.

Hearth-money.

Ordered, That the Debate of the Matter concerning Abuses in collecting Hearth Money, be taken into Consideration on Friday Sevennight.

Seaforth Election.

Ordered, That the Report concerning the Election for Seaforth, be heard on To-morrow Sevennight.

Dunwich Election.

Ordered, That the Report concerning the Election for Dunwich, be made To-morrow Morning.

Dr. Outram to preach on 30 Jan.

Ordered, That the House will on Monday next solemnize the Fast of King Charles the First his Martyrdom, in St. Margarett's Church Westminster; and that Dr. Outram, the Rector of that Parish, be desired to preach before the House that Day: And Doctor Burwell is to acquaint him with the Desires of the House.

Supply Bill; Subsidies.

The House then resolved into a Committee of the whole House, upon the Bill of Subsidies.

Mr. Speaker left the Chair.

Mr. Seymour took the Chair of the Committee.

Mr. Speaker resumed the Chair.

Mr. Seymour reports from the said Committee, That, they had made some further Progress in the Consideration of the said Bill; and humbly moved, from the said Committee, that the House would resolve into a Committee of the whole House, To-morrow Morning, Ten of the Clock, to proceed in the further Consideration thereof.

Resolved, &c. That this House doth agree with the Committee, that the House be resolved into a Committee of the whole House, To-morrow Morning, Ten of the Clock, to proceed in the further Consideration of the Bill of Subsidies.

Committees.

Ordered, That all Committees which were discontinued, be revived; and do sit, at Two of the Clock this Afternoon, in the Places formerly appointed.

And then the House adjourned till To-morrow Morning, Eight of the Clock.
