Prayers.

Defaulters to Call of the House.

ORDERED, That Serjeant Hardres, Mr. Steward, and Mr. Dowdeswell, who were absent at the Call of the House, and are now present, be excused, and struck out of the List of Defaulters.

Supply Bill; Wine Licences.

A Bill for settling and confirming an Agreement and Exchange between his Majesty and his Royal Highness, concerning Wine Licences, was read the Second time.

Resolved, &c. That the said Bill be committed to Sir Jonath. Trelawny, Sir Francis Goodricke, Colonel Gilby, Sir Trevor Williams, Sir John Pettus, Sir Thom. Higgons, Colonel Birch, Sir John Reeves, Colonel Kirby, Sir Robert Carr, Sir Solom. Swale, Sir Allen Apsely, Mr. Wren, Mr. Garraway, Sir John Norton, Sir John Duncomb, Mr. Seymour, Mr. Wood, Sir John Birkenhead, Mr. Wright, Lord Ancram, Sir Thomas Allen, Sir Edw. Thurland, Mr. Crouch, Mr. Hobby, Sir John Northcot, Col. Phillipps, Mr. Spry, Sir John Knight, Mr. Morrice, Mr. Henry Seymour, Sir Geo. Downing, Sir Adam Browne, Mr. Powell, Mr. Treasurer, Sir Will. Smith's, &c. Agreement.

Amendments, sent from the Lords, to the Bill for settling an Agreement between Sir William Smith, Sir Thomas Hooke, German Pole, and others, were twice read; and, with an Amendment, by inserting the Words, "the true Intent and Meaning of," were agreed.

Ordered, That the Bill and Amendments, with the Alteration made by this House, be sent back to the Lords, for their Concurrence.

Malicious maiming.

Sir Thomas Lee reports from the Committee to which the Amendments, sent from the Lords, to the Bill, intituled, An Act to prevent malicious Maiming and Wounding, were committed, That they saw no Reason to agree with the Lords to the Two Amendments postponed; and the Reasons of their disagreeing; and also, the Reasons to be offered at the Conference with the Lords, to justify the Amendments of this House, made to the Lords Amendments: Which were read; and agreed to.

Conference on Amendments.

Ordered, That Sir John Mounson do go up to the Lords, to desire a Conference, upon the Amendments to the Bill to prevent malicious Maiming and Wounding.

Sir John Mounson reports, That the Lords had agreed to a present Conference.

Ordered, That the Members formerly appointed to prepare Reasons, do manage the Conference.

Sir Thomas Meeres reports, That they had attended the Conference with the Lords; and delivered the Reasons of this House, for their Amendments to the Lords Amendments, to the Bill to prevent malicious Maiming and Wounding.

Privilege.

Ordered, That the Matter touching Breach of Privilege between Mr. Cornwallis and Mr. Digby, be heard, by the Committee of Privileges, on Saturday next.

Moseley's Estate.

Ordered, That the Bill on the Behalf of Mr. Moseley be read on Saturday next.

Hemp and Flax planting.

Mr. Birch reports from the Committee to which the Bill of planting of Hemp and Flax is committed, some Amendments agreed by the Committee to be made to the Bill: Which being twice read, and debated;

Resolved, That the Bill be committed upon the Debate of the whole House, to the former Committee; who, for that Purpose, are revived: And that these Members following be added to the Committee; Colonel Birch, Sir Rich. Temple, Col. Phillipps, Sir Tho. Gower, Sir John Talbot, Mr. Rigby, Mr. Crouch, Mr. Sprye, Sir Geo. Downing, Lord St. John, Mr. Steward, Sir John Knight, Mr. Seymour, Mr. Hobby, Sir Robert Steward, Sir Char. Harbord, Sir Anthony Irby, Sir Robert Carr, Sir John Duncombe, Mr. Coleman, Sir Job Charlton, Colonel Sandis, Sir John Fagg, Sir Thom. Meers, Sir Robert Carr, Sir Thom. Higgons, Colonel Williams, Sir John Newton, Mr. Cheyney: And all that shall come are to have Voices: And they are to meet To-morrow at Three of the Clock in the Afternoon, in the Speaker's Chamber: and to hasten their Report by Saturday.

Supply Bill; Subsidies.

Resolved, &c. That the House will resolve into a Committee of the whole House, To-morrow Morning, at Nine of the Clock, to proceed on the further Consideration of the Bill of Subsidies, the first Business.

Leave of Absence.

Ordered, That Colonel Robinson, a Member of this House, have Leave to go into the Country, for Recovery of his Health.

Buying and selling Cattle.

Ordered, That it be referred to Sir Will. Coventry, Sir Thomas Lee, Mr. Cheyney, Sir Rich. Temple, Sir Robert Steward, Mr. Garraway; or any Three of them, to bring in a Bill to prevent Frauds and Abuses in Butchers, Graziers, and others, in buying and selling of Cattle.

Committees.

Ordered, That all Committees that were to sit this Afternoon, be adjourned.

And then the House adjourned till To-morrow Morning, Eight of the Clock.
