Prayers.

Repairing Highways.

RESOLVED, &c. That a Committee be appointed to inspect the former Laws for repairing and maintaining Highways, and consider wherein they are defective; and to prepare and bring in a Bill for the effectual Repairing and Maintaining thereof: And it is referred to Mr. Cheney, Colonel Titus, Mr. Sacheverell, Sir Wm. Lewis, Sir Fran. Clarke, Colonel Strangwaies, Sir Antho. Irby, Mr. Sawyer, Sir Thom. Littleton, Sir Robert Dillington, Sir Bainham Throgmorton, Sir John Hotham, Mr. Darcy, Sir Rich. Temple, Sir John Otway, Sir Eliab Harvey, Colonel Birch, Serjeant Seis, Sir Thom. Allen, Colonel Sandis, Sir John Moreton, Mr. Westphaling, Sir Philip Warwick, Mr. Morrice, Sir John Hanmer, Mr. Hampden, Sir Will. Doyley, Sir John Trevor, Sir John Holland, Sir Will. Farmer, Mr. Crouch, Sir Thom. Clergis, or any Five of them: And they are to meet on Wednesday next, at Three of the Clock this Afternoon, in the Speaker's Chamber: And to send for Persons, Papers, and Records.

Impeachment of Earl Arlington.

The House then resumed the adjourned Debate of the Matter, concerning the Lord Arlington.

Colonel Birch made Report of the Proceedings of the Committee appointed, on Saturday, to peruse the Warrants of Commitment and Discharges of Sir Thomas Muddiford, and others, committed to the Tower: The Copies of which being by him read; and the Original being delivered in by the Lieutenant of the Tower; and, after the Debate of the Matter, re-delivered to him again;

The House then proceeding in the further Debate of the Matter concerning the Lord Arlington;

The Question being put, That Candles be brought into the House;
