Ease of Sheriffs, &c.

AN additional Bill for preventing the unnecessary Charges of Sheriffs; as also for the Ease of Justices of the Peace, in their Attendance at the Assizes; was read.

Resolved, &c. That the Bill be read a Second time.

Exeter Parishes.

A Bill, brought in by Leave of the House, for uniting Parishes, and providing a Maintenance for Ministers, within the City of Exeter, was read.

Resolved, &c. That the said Bill be read a Second*.

London Paving.

Resolved, &c. That a Committee be appointed to prepare and bring in a Bill or Bills for paving and maintaining the Streets of the City of London; and enabling the City to perfect and go through with the Re-building of the Churches, and such other publick Works, as are enjoined by Act of Parliament; viz. Sir Richard Ford, Alderman Love, Sir John Frederick, Mr. Jones, Serjeant Maynard, Sir Edw. Boscowen, Sir Will. Coventry, Sir Charles Harbord, Sir Robert Carre, Sir Will. Resolved, &c. That it be referred to the said Committee, or any Three of them, to prepare and bring in a Bill for restraining any further new Building in all Places within the Bills of Mortality, except the City of London, and the Liberties thereof.

Writs of Habeas Corpus.

A Bill for Relief of Persons imprisoned by Writs of Habeas Corpus, was read the Second time.

Clarke, Lord Fitz Williams, Lord Obrian, Colonel Strangwaies, Sir Robert Holt, Sir Rich. Powle, Sir John Hotham, Sir Will. Aldborough Election.

Ordered, That the Merits of the Cause and the Return for the Borough of Aldborough be heard together.

Dr. Whithcott to preach on 4th Feb.

Ordered, That Doctor Whithcott be desired to preach before the House, on the Fourth of February next: And the Lord Cornbury is desired to give him Notice.

Committees.

Ordered, That all Committees which are discontinued, be revived; and do sit this Afternoon at Three of the Clock, in the Places formerly appointed.
