Drake's Estate.

A BILL for confirming Leases, and enabling Sir Francis Drake Baronet to settle a Jointure and Provisions for his younger Children, was read a Second time.

Resolved, &c. That the Bill be committed to Sir Anthony Irby, Mr. Landon, Sir Edw. Seymour, Mr. Whitacre, Mr. Newport, Sir Edw. Masters, Mr. Cory, Sir Copleston Bamfeild, Sir Henry Ford, Sir Jos. Tredinham, Sir John Birkenhead, Sir Edw. Massey, Sir Will. Strode, Mr. Bennet, Sir James Smith, Sir John Carew, Mr. Smith, Sir John Trevor, Sir John Coriton, Sir John Pettus, Mr. Westphaling, Sir Geo. Reeve, Sir Thom. Lord Cornwallis' Estate.

Newarke Election.

A Petition of Mr. Savile, and Sir Paul Neale, in reference to their being elected to serve in Parliament, for the Borough of Newarke, was read.

Another Petition of John Girton, Francis Chetwin, and other Inhabitants of Newarke, and other Towns adjacent, was also read.

And the Matter upon both being debated;

Resolved, &c. That the Consideration of both these Petitions be referred to the Committee of Privileges and Elections, to examine the Matter of the Petitions; and report the State of the Case, and their Opinions therein, to the House.

Call of the House.

Ordered, That Monday Three Weeks next be appointed for Calling-over the House.

Precedents of Warrants to King's Surveyor.

Sir Thomas Clergis reports from the Committee appointed to search Precedents, where Warrants had been granted by Mr. Speaker, to the King's Surveyor, and other Officers, to make Passages, Seats, and other Conveniencies, for the Service of the House, That they had found a Precedent in Primo Jacobi: Which being delivered in, and read at the Clerk's Table, and debated;

Warrant to be issued for opening Passages.

Resolved, &c. That Mr. Speaker do issue his Warrant to his Majesty's Surveyor, and such other Officers as are concerned, to cause the Door and Passage from the Middle of the Gallery, into the Speaker's Chambers, to be laid open again, for the freer Passage and Accommodation of the Members of this House.

Rules of the House, and compelling Members Attendance.

Ordered, That a Committee be appointed to consider of the ancient Rules of this House, and by what Means the Members of this House may be compelled to give their better Attendance on the Service of the House:

Attempt to corrupt a Member.

Information being given to the House, that one Mr. Masters had reported, that a Member of this House had told him, That he hoped to make this Session worth Five thousand Pounds to him.
