Prayers.

Portsmouth, &c. Streets.

ORDERED, That Colonel Norton have Leave to bring in a Bill for paving the Streets, and erecting a Workhouse, or Alms-house, in the Town of Portsmouth, and raising Money for that Purpose.

Dean of Canterbury and Dr. Whitchcott thanked.

Ordered, That the Thanks of the House be returned to the Dean of Canterbury, and to Dr. Whitchcott, for the Sermons by them preached Yesterday, before the House: And that Sir Edward Masters do return Thanks to the Dean of Canterbury; and the Lord Cornbury to Doctor Whitchcott.

Regulating Elections.

Ordered, That the Committee appointed to prepare a Bill for regulating Elections, and for the better Attendance of Members elected to serve in Parliament, be revived; and do sit To-morrow, at Two of the Clock, in the Place formerly appointed.

Exeter Parishes.

A Bill for uniting Parishes within the City of Exeter, and raising competent Maintenance for Preaching Ministers of the Gospel therein, was read a Second time.

Resolved, &c. That the Bill be committed to Sir James Smith, Serjeant Maynard, Sir Trevor Williams, Colonel Strangwaies, Sir John Birkenhead, Lord Obrien, Sir Jos. Tredenham, Mr. Morris, Mr. Chalmondley, Sir John Knight, Sir John Mallet, Sir Thomas Meeres, Mr. Cheney, Sir Courtney Poole, Sir Hen. Ford, Mr. Love, Mr. Jones, Mr. Sacheverell, Mr. Walker, Sir John Coriton, Sir John Moreton, Mr. Ford, Sir Will. Doyley, Sir Edw. Deering, Mr. Crouch, Sir Anth. Irby, Mr. Boscowen, Mr. Dennis, Sir Copl. Banifeild, Sir Rich. Temple, Sir Thom. Clergis, Sir Phil. Harcourt, Sir Hen. Capell, Sir Edw. Massey, Mr. Papillon, Mr. Child, and all that serve for the Counties of Devon and Cornwall: And they are to meet To-morrow, at Three of the Clock in the Afternoon, in the Inner Court of Wards; and to send out Summons of Notice to the Inhabitants of the City of Exon, and Persons concerned in Interest there, that they come in, and be heard, if they please: And to send for Persons, Papers, and Records.

Test against Papists.

Mr. Powle reports from the Committee appointed to prepare a Bill, or Bills, for a Test to distinguish between Protestants and Papists, and for the better Conviction of Papists, with other Matters to them referred; That the Committee had agreed upon a Bill for the Purposes first-mentioned: Which Bill was delivered in at the Clerk's Table.

The Bill for a Test to distinguish between Protestants and Papists, and for the better Conviction of Papists, was read.

Resolved, &c. That the Bill be read a Second time, To-morrow Morning, Ten of the Clock.

Vote respecting the Duke of Buckingham.

The House then proceeded in the adjourned Debate of the Vote relating to the Duke of Buckingham, whether the Lords Concurrence ... be desired therein.

The Question being put, That the Concurrence of the Lords be desired, to the Vote which relates to his Grace the Duke of Bucks;

Ordered, That Mr. Speaker do, upon the Attendance, this Afternoon, upon his Majesty, present the humble and hearty Thanks of this House to his Majesty, for his last Gracious Speech.

Grievances.

Ordered, That the House will, on Saturday next, Ten of the Clock, resolve into a Committee of the whole House, to consider of the Grievances of the Nation.

Committee of Privileges.

Ordered, That the Committee of Privileges and Elections be adjourned till Saturday.

And then the House adjourned till Three of the Clock, Afternoon.
