A BILL for draining of the Level of the Fens called Lindsey Level, was read the Second time.

Privilege-Resistance to Mr. Speaker's Warrant.

Thomas Procter the Serjeant at Arms his Deputy being called in, and examined, as to the Matter of Misdemeanor and Misinformation, objected against him, and reported to the House, from the Committee of Elections and Privileges, concerning the Commitment of Mr. Hastings and Mr. Croke;

Ordered, That the Matter concerning the Misdemeanor and Abuse of Thomas Procter, Deputy to the Serjeant at Arms attending this House, be referred to the Committee of Privileges and Elections; to re-examine; and to summon and hear Mr. Hastings and Mr. Croke, and other Parties concerned: And the Committee are desired to hasten their Report in the other Matter depending before them, between the Serjeant at Arms now attending this House, and Michaell Crake, concerning the Right to the Place of Serjeant at Arms; and to report the whole Matter, with their Opinions, to the House.

Defaulters to Call of the House.

Ordered, That Sir Tho. Dolman, Sir Cha. Wheeler, Mr. Sackville, Mr. Thompson, Sir Adam Browne, Sir Cirill Wich, whose Excuses were allowed, be struck out of the List of Defaulters.

Serjeant at Arms to be examined.

Ordered, That the Serjeant at Arms attending this House do attend To-morrow Morning to give an Account to the House of the Behaviour of Thomas Procter his Deputy; and whether he gave him Directions to take Bail for the Appearance of Henry White and John Latham, committed for a Breach of Privilege.

Chester Election.

Sir Thomas Meres reports from the Committee of Privileges and Elections, the State of the Case in the Election for the City of Chester, between Robert Werden Esquire, and Wm. Williams Esquire; and Two Votes of the Committee thereupon: Which he read in his Place; and afterwards delivered the same in at the Clerk's Table: Which, being twice read, were, upon the Question, agreed.

Resolved, &c. That this House doth agree with the Committee, that Mr. Williams is not duly elected to serve in this present Parliament, as a Citizen for the City of Chester.

Resolved, &c. That Robert Werden Esquire is duly elected a Member to serve in this present Parliament for the City of Chester.

Lords reminded of Message.

A Motion being made, to remind the Lords of a Message sent to them by this House, concerning the Privileges of this House, contained in an Answer to a Message of theirs, in the Case of Mr. Onslow; the Lords having returned Answer, that they will send Answer by Messengers of their own: And that a Conference be again desired with the Lords, upon the Privilege of this House, in the Case of Mr. Onslow;
