Prayers.

Merchant's Estate.

A BILL was opened, and tendered to the House, for Payment of the Debts, and settling the Estate, of Henry Merchant, a Lunatick; and received.

Committee to take Evidence.

Mr. Speaker reports, That, in Obedience to the Order of the House, touching the Paper delivered into the House, and read, signed Howard, Richmond, and Carlisle, the Lord Cavendish and Sir Thomas Meres did attend him on Wednesday last, at his House, at Dinner: And that he sent to Mr. Thomas Howard to attend him; but that he was very sick and weak, and hardly able to stir Hand or Foot, and not in a Condition to stir abroad; but had passed his Engagement, not to act any thing in that Matter, till he had attended Mr. Speaker.

Resolved, &c. That Sir Thomas Littleton, Sir Trever Williams, Sir Charles Harbord, Sir Anthony Irby, and Mr. Crouch, be appointed, to go to Mr. Thom. Howard, and know of him, whether he will own the Paper produced and read in the House, and subscribed Howard, Richmond, and Carlisle; and that they do give an Account of the Matter to the House.

Supply.

The House then proceeded to the Consideration of his Majesty's Speech: Which being again read;

A Motion being made for a Supply, upon that Part of his Majesty's Speech which relates to the taking off Anticipations upon his Majesty's Revenue, and for building more Ships;

Resolved, &c. That this House will resolve To-morrow Morning, at Ten of the Clock, into a Committee of the whole House, to take into Consideration that Part of his Majesty's Speech which relates to a Supply for taking off Anticipations upon his Majesty's Revenue, and building more Ships.

Settlement of Religion.

A Motion being further made, to take into speedy Consideration that Part of his Majesty's Speech, which relates to the Settlement of Religion;

Resolved, &c. That this House will on Wednesday Morning next resolve into a Committee of the whole House, to take into Consideration that Part of his Majesty's Speech, which relates to the Settlement of Religion.

Supply Bill; appropriating Customs.

A Bill for appropriating the Customs to the Use of the Navy, was read the First time.

Resolved, &c. That this Bill be read a Second time on Thursday next.

Trade with France.

Resolved, &c. That a Committee be appointed to consider of the Trade between England and France; and to report the Matter, with their Opinions therein, to the House; viz. Mr. Cheney, Sir Geo. Downeing, Mr. Secretary Coventry, Sir Cha. Harbord, Sir Eliab Harvey, Sir Tho. Littleton, Mr. Swinfen, Sir Anth. Irby, Mr. Secretary Williamson, Sir John Robinson, Sir Winston Churchill, Sir Tho. Lee, Mr. Wright, Sir Phill. Musgrave, Mr. Sawyer, Sir Trever Williams, Mr. Robert Wright, Mr. Williams, Sir John Holland, Sir Nicholas Carew, Mr. Powle, Sir Tho. Meres, Mr. Garraway, Colonel Birch, Sir Wm. Coventry, Mr. Sacheverall, Mr. Crouch, Sir Richard Ford, Mr. Jolliffe, Sir Wm. Lowther, Mr. Spry, Sir Tho. Clergis, Mr. Childe, Sir John Knight, Sir Samuell Bernardiston, Mr. Eyres, Sir Fr. Drake, Mr. Papillon, Alderman Bence, and all that serve for the City of London, and the Outport Towns; or any Five of them: And they are to meet at Four of the Clock this Afternoon, in the Speaker's Chamber: And to send for Persons, Papers, and Records.

Augmenting Vicarages.

Ordered, That Sir Edward Deering have the Leave of this House, to bring in a Bill for Augmentation of small Vicarages.

Illegal Exactions.

A Bill to prevent illegal Exaction of Money from the Subject, was read the First time.

Resolved, &c. That this Bill be read a Second time on Thursday Morning next.

State of the Nation.

Resolved, &c. That this House will, on Monday Morning next, at Ten of the Clock, resolve into a Committee of the whole House, to consider the State and Condition of the Kingdom.

And then the House adjourned till To-morrow Morning, Eight of the Clock.
